yeah I've always like alien stuff more than fantasy stuff. I will tell you though that the new XCOM stuff is way more refined than the old X-COM stuff. As far as gameplay is concerned, ignoring setting, I think you'd adore the mechanics.

Anyway, not exactly fantasy setting but you may enjoy The Banner Saga which features vikings (no aliens!).

Finished up Gun for Xbox; 7/10
If you're in the mood for an action adventure western, you may enjoy Gun. From cattle herding to saloon poker to outlaw hunting, Gun does its best to be true to its genre. With an above average plot and ace voice acting, Gun also does a good job of immersing you in its world. Simple controls and convenient concessions to the player make Gun feel like a game that isn't wasting your time. That said, Gun's world can often feel shallow and inconsequential given the limited ability of the player to interact with its denizens. The combat though frantic does tend to feel one dimensional after a while, with waves and waves of clone enemies dying to your six shooter left and right. And with a final boss battle that is utterly abhorrent in its design with total disregard to the tone of the rest of the game, a sour tastes permeates the final act of the experience. Despite these shortcomings however, most of Gun is indeed entertaining. Gun's beautiful scenic desert tinged vistas deserve to be explored on horseback, just watch out for the bandits.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

That's about right from my experience with Gun for the Gamecube. Look at all the talent they used for the voices though. Still fun.

Mega Man: The Power Battles for the arcade, and before that the arcade game Asterix.

Both were emulated on the Ouya via MAME4Droid.

Awesome! Really enjoyed it and I can easily say that I'm not a big fan of Uncharted. But I had always heard The Last of Us was pretty different and yeah, it was a lot more my style and just way more fun to me. The melee combat was pretty intense and awesome, reminded me a lot of Condemned... beating up insane druggies and homeless people.

I enjoyed the ending. Not quite what I expected, but it not being so cliche' is definitely what I liked about it.

Games Beaten 2014:

1. GTA V(360)
2. Brothers(PSN)
3. Infamous(PS3)*
4. Infamous 2(PS3)
5. Remember Me(PS3 PS+ Freebie)
6. Shadow of the Colossus(PS3 HD Collection)*
7. Watch Dogs(PC)
8. Aliens Colonial Marines(360)
9. Titanfall(PC)
10. Battlefield 4(PC)(Hard)*
11. Adventure(Atari 2600)
12. Doom(Xbox)
13. Beyond Two Souls(PS3)

Played it straight through today. Really love Quantic Dream games they do awesome work as far as story goes. My favorite QD game is still Indigo Prophecy though and I think Heavy Rain had a much more interesting story.
What I Didn't Like:

The game would have been so much better if they had just stuck to pure QTE with prompts like Heavy Rain. Combat was a massive pain in the ass since it was hard to tell if the game wanted you to dodge, attack, or defend and if you wiggled the right thumb stick in the wrong direction you got your ass kicked :P. The choices also felt pretty empty I got my ass handed to me a few times and I didn't really feel like there were any consequences for my failings. Plus a lot of the puzzles were very linear with only a single solution and a bunch of pointless crap to slow you down. The ending for the most part was also pretty weak they offer you four choices and then at the very end there is a kind of teaser for a possible sequel that feels totally out of place.

What I Liked:

The motion capture was amazing and the graphics were very well done. They also put a ton of detail into the environment and I on more then one occasion found myself watching animated shorts on the tvs or reading magazines or papers that were lying around. Aiden is also pretty bad ass and the idea of being able to basically phase through everything in the environment is awesome. I really wish I had a partner for couch co-op as well it would make the game simply amazing and I had no idea that this had a two player option till I installed it. Finally while the story wasn't especially my cup of tea there were some amazing characters mixed in and I really liked a few of the twists at the end.

Good review.

GUN is fantastic and delivers what it promises. It's a game that was incredible at setting the stage, and although it does falter a bit at the end, is vastly a super fun experience. I haven't played enough of Red Dead Redemption to make a true assessment of the two, but that said GUN kept me entertained enough to beat the game.

I really slacked off on keeping up with my list this year. More than likely I've beaten more games this year than last year, but haven't kept up with my list. However, I an say I recently beat GTA III and loved every minute of it. Well, almost every minute of it as getting out of a boat is a daring task.

Playing through GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA IV. I still don't get the hype about Vice, as it plays almost like GTA III the DLC pack. San Andreas remains as my favorite, and IV has too much bullshiting to do. Cool bullshit, but it's still bullshit.

I haven't dicked around in GTA III and that's how I prefer to play the game. No deaths/hospital visits, no being "busted", and no 100%. I like to beat every mission with accuracy and use the ol' noggin. That's why I love III so much. You can easily beat almost every mission if you have a half-assed strategy. You can create a small traffic jam to beat most missions, and avoid half hour chases with a simple lob of a grenade.

Also love the way the game approaches an in game tutorial; a quick block of text saying "You can press X to run". It's not spoon fed and also easy to ignore. Also, also love the game does NOT have an in game map. You have to learn the city. 10/10.

I played Vice first and it's kind of hard to go back to III since everything that was done there it's better in Vice. My major gripe with III it's that your character is just a robot that obeys everything without any doubt, really a high contrast with Tommy. So far i have played every 3D GTA game and each time the game is set in Liberty city i find the game boring... i don't know why but that city is not apealing to me.

Did you get to try the Stories games?
