You're comparing the metacritic scores from a bunch of AAA ports to a bunch of small budget, fairly obscure games.
I don't know what this proves.
Wii-U thoughts so far
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
Aye, Metacritic scores for the Mario Galaxy games or Zelda entries are higher still, and there are the occasionaly third party entries like Okami (90) or Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition (91) that are up there too.
I wouldn't think of it as a purchasing decision though. A Wii U will play all those games too.

If you were to pick the 10 best games on either console they'd all be Nintendo IPs anyway, so I don't see the difference.RCBH928 wrote: I guess what I was trying to say is, if I could pick 10 best games on the Wii and 10 best games on Wii U. Then I will decide to buy the Wii U. I didn't argue if Wii U had better 3rd pary support or bigger library.

Is there a graphical difference between emulating a game on Wii mode versus Wii U mode?

Not from what I've seen. I think its been up-res'd if you output through an HDMI cable. I could be wrong. I haven't seen any graphical artifacts though in the handful of games I've played. Mario Galaxy looks fantastic!Opa Opa wrote:Is there a graphical difference between emulating a game on Wii mode versus Wii U mode?
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
My understanding was that running in Wii mode, regardless of HDMI or not (which is cleaner) was that it still was just 480p.
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
Easy enough to check for anyone that has a TV that will show input resolution.

Yes I think you are right. Still outputs at 480p but does it up-res it to what the Wii U naturally output to?Tanooki wrote:My understanding was that running in Wii mode, regardless of HDMI or not (which is cleaner) was that it still was just 480p.

I have my U set to output 1080 and my TV shows an input res of 1080 when I'm in Wii mode.casterofdreams wrote:Yes I think you are right.
