A post requesting your list of items to donate will go out mid-week (so don't send them now) - we're going to follow last year's model and cap it at 100 higher-quality items, so start thinking about what quality goods/lots you might have laying around .

This year the auction will start around the 19th/20th of December and close at 11:59pm on January 1.

Child's play for me.
My brother summed it up - you're stuck for an extended period of time in an unfamiliar antiseptic environment - if you can't play a familiar game out of necessity you're suffering more than you've ever suffered. Those guys with a prosthetic have options available to them - the 1-handed PS1 controller is awesome for whacking and also works for other games (note - I only ever use the one I donated on the first auction for changing songs on Winamp.).
Hospitals are harsh to begin with. Some people can't even get access to a phone (and theirs is confiscated at the entrance). It could happen to me, it could happen to you.
The soldiers chose their environment. Bring a GBM with you.
