If you really enjoy that formula, the Dead Space games were the best successor this last gen in my eyes. RE5 is fun too, but not quite as good as RE4 to me.
The only real reason I got it on the Wii over the GCN or PS2 is for widescreen. I read that the Wii version includes everything from all past ports of the game, so it really was the ultimate version of the game up to that point. I've read that there's an HD version of it on PS3, that's PSN only in America but can be had on disc in Japan. I don't see it up on PSN, so IDK what the deal is with that. I'd imagine that the HD version is probably the best, though with a lack of the Wii remote to aim with I don't think it would be as fun to play... just look a hell of a lot nicer.

I'm also pretty new to the survival horror genre as a whole. I've played a few "creepy" games before, but I don't think I've ever played a true survival horror type game.

Yeah, I read that on Wiki. IIRC, it's digital only on PSN and Xbox Live.
I don't mind digital only, but yeah. I should check it out.

...probably once I'm employed again lol.

Well like I said in my last post, I don't see it on PSN. I don't know if it got pulled or what.

Just checked, it's not actually going to be out until next year.

I'll check it out then I suppose.

I think you guys are really confused, the REmake HD release is not out until next year.

The RE4 HD port came out in September 20, 2011 according to IGN. I played it last year myself. I think you have to just literally search "Resident Evil 4" or something, I've had that trouble with PSN sometimes. Maybe it's just not up right now for some reason?...

It was top notch though, like the DMC HD trilogy. Capcom's HD ports seem to be some of the best from what I've played. RE4 HD includes all the extras too. They also did Code Veronica too... for some reason.

Awesome, hope you dig it! If you can tolerate the tank controls with REmake, that'll open the door to a lot of awesome stuff you should check out. I'm sure Ack, myself and others could help you out with survival horror heh. But yeah if you're digging RE4, for something newer Dead Space would be a nice next step.

That is why we will wait for him to play REmake before I start suggesting survival horror games.

Hey guys you can get the Asia versions of the PS3 ReMake and RE4 RECV if you want a physical disc with English language. Although I do not have a PS3.
