I remember killing someone with Elena's taunt in SF3:Third Strike. One of the happiest days of my life. Killing someone with Dudley's/Sean's/Ken's/Yun's taunt is impressive, sure, but those are actually decent attacks that simply do 1 point of damage. Elena's is borderline unusable, so actually getting a kill with it feels too damn good.
Oh yeah, I do love those too. My personal favorite is the Heavy's taunt from TF2. There have been a few times I've managed to get people with it, and it's the best feeling in the world.

It's basically just any time someone is in the middle of an attack that will miss and take too long to recover from to retaliate, or if they are just out of range, or flying back from an attack of yours. Though honestly, I was extremely salty when I wrote that anyways, though I do still think risky taunts are best taunts.

It is indeed really satisfying to get a taunt kill in that game. :3

I know that a couple people base whole strategies around taunt-killing as Heavy, using the Holiday Punch and the Buffalo Steak Sandvich to immobilize the enemy in laughter before taunting.

Anyone can throw out a taunt or do some little dance when their opponent is flying off in the distance, but it takes actual courage to slam down a taunt right in a Fox's face as they come down from a fox fire, or reading someone's retreat and responding with a risky taunt.
When I play Mr. Game & Watch, his down taunt is him sitting down and a cloud of exhaustion escapes his lips. Looks like he is farting.

Every time I fight a Little Mac, I start things off with that and win.

It does a lot of stuff differently, so nah.
Funny enough, my personal favorite is actually Silent Hill 3.
Nah.
Yeah.
Why?

Well, Silent Hill 4 is probably my second favorite.
I think if it played like SH1-SH3 (no inventory limit, save points throughout levels, and the apartment thing would be fixed intervals... would be perfect) ... it may have been my favorite. I strongly feel story/atmosphere wise it's really amazing.

In MANY ways I still think the first game is the creepiest and most intimidating though. It was amazing to see that otherworld again in SH3 with superior graphics, but... just something about the first game was super extra creepier and dark. Maybe that's it, there was something about SH3 that felt like it was ironic and mocking itself at times, almost humorously so. But SH1 was just insanely serious and evil.

Nope. The first is my favorite in the series.

Like Xeo was saying above, the game is just disturbing in a way none of the others are. I adore it.

The only character who can pull that off in Smash is Luigi.

And it is oh so deliciously satisfying if you can somehow manage it.

...maybe also get rid of that annoying crap where the entire second half of the game is just a complete re-hash of the first combined with an escort mission.

Actually a lot of the stuff you mentioned would be fairly trivial to hack into the PC version or something. Hell even gameshark codes could probably do a lot of that.

Most of the complaints I heard about SH4 didn't bother me at all. The combat was completely fine and the escort mission was never a bother since you could put her in a room and then basically clear the map. It was only a few levels too, because you're solo again in the end. *shrugs*

I certainly think it's worth playing, and it's certainly more interesting than any of the western developed entries in the series.

For one, I liked the idea that Silent Hill is able to reach out and influence things, not just simply sending a letter but showing that there are nightmarish versions of everywhere and anywhere that most of us are blithely ignorant of. The mythos was expanded in ways I enjoyed that showed different individuals viewed SH in different ways(such as one cultist seeing the monsters as angels). And the willingness to kill off previous survivors is always a ballsy move in my opinion.

From a gameplay perspective, SH3 was light on the endings but made up for it with a ton of unlockables. There was a lot of variety in the weapons and some memorable scares and bizarre creature designs. The locales were excellent, and there is a subtle strand of dark humor going through the game.

And then I like Heather as a protagonist. She isn't the typical over-sexified female lead, but she is tough, intelligent, and capable, even if she is terrified. Why she is the only female protagonist in the main SH series, I don't know.

I know i find that a bit odd. I started playin SH3 on the HD collection on the PS3, now i get why people say she's "moonwalking", and even when is just the first area im liking it a bit more than SH2, keep in mind that i need to replay that one too and i haven't got out of the appartments yet and i think that is the weakest area in the whole game.
