I love einhander with a passion and want to know if there were ever any other SquareEnix shooters released...

Can't think of any, other than Kings Knight (NES), which is hardly worth noting. I certainly wish they'd try their hand at the genre again.

Project Sylpheed... but it's 3d - proper complicated controls and repetitive gameplay as well - can't say I'm a fan having only gotten to the second or third level before trading it in a year ago, although I did re-purchase it just a couple of days ago - gonna do the tutorials this time...0_o

Internal Section a Japan only PSX shooter was made by Square if I remember correctly. It has a Rez feel to it.

It's not by Square, but Steel Savior has a weapon system pretty similar to Einhander.
