:) Finally remembered the name of a comic I wanted to read: Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. Anyone actually reccomend tracking it down? I'm mildly interested but not sure if its worth the read.

Congratz :).

 : : My eldest cousin called us up at 9am this morning saying she and her eldest daughter were coming in to "visit"(leech money off) my grandmother and informed us that she would be staying with us for thanksgiving and the weekend  . Really pissed that my dad gave them the okay even though they would have came regardless of whether they were invited or not. Kind of expecting her to pull the BS she usually did on my grandmother and show up a day early without notice with two-three carloads of her kids, their spouses, and her grandkids.

I've never read it personally, but I've heard good things. It is pretty out there on its subject matter, but I imagine you know that.

I was a big fan when the book was coming out and recall enjoying it quite a bit and getting most of the run. But several years ago I was going through my old comics and flipped through a few issues and it just did not click. Maybe it was disappointment from thinking I had issue #1 and sadly did not, or i'm just older and not in that place in life anymore when JTHM really spoke to me.

Either way it is good work. The art is unique and powerful at times, and it is not ridiculously text dense or arty farty self indulgent. Worth seeking out on the cheap to see if you really like it.

I may try to see if I can read it online somewhere be for buying. I'm short on cash but I always but things I pirate if I enjoy them, unless the author can no longer recieve money for the things and its rather expensive.

I read the JTHM collection when at college, a little before Invader Zim came out. I didn't immediately start worshipping it like some people, but I enjoyed it's dark humor and social commentary and purchased my own copy.
