Just remembered that I used to play The Lost World on PlayStation as a kid.

For the first few stages you're forced to play as...... a compy.

How about a game where you can genetically manipulate your own dinosaurs with various attributes, using a fusion system like the one in Shin Megami Tensei games, but with a Dr. Mario like mini-game where the different colors you eliminate determine the points allotted to character attributes. Once you have an army of dinosaurs, you strategically place them on an overhead battlefield map, using tower-defense style strategy, only after you have placed them you enter the action in a Dynasty Warriors style dinosaur free-for-all throwdown.

I can't tell if I'm joking or serious right now.

Story time!

So the original The Lost World platformer for PS1 and Saturn was widely considered mediocre. It was overly difficult. It had some strange clipping and physics issues. Saves that didn't seem to work properly. And as you stated, you start out as a compy.

However, a year or so later a Greatest Hits version hit for the PS1. Unlike most GH titles, it was worth getting. Not only was the difficulty toned down (A LOT!), and physics issues fixed, the first level starts you off as the t-rex breaking out of the complex. The save system was also mostly fixed and better yet, the manual includes level select codes. I believe the GH ones also had a secret ending but I could be remembering wrong.

I really enjoy the game. It's probably the first game I remember owning (that or Gran Turismo). If you're going to play it, play the GH release or the Saturn one. The Saturn version is slightly better and some of the major issues weren't as prevalent there.

That really is seriously impressive. The sound quality in game too is pretty top notch.

Does anyone remember this? http://jurassic-life.com/, a fan-made Half Life 2 mod. I remember it looked impressive a couple years ago when I first checked it out. Unfortunately it's still in development but hopefully it will be released soon, in time for the new movie at least.

Sure would love another DIno Crisis! 3 sure killed off the series good [but I still would've bought it had it been on PS2]
