The Sega Master System version of Ghouls n Ghosts (emulated on the Wii via the latest version of Genesis Plus GX).
I love how you can get different types of armor (as a powerup), but hate how random these moments are (they basically appear sometimes whenever you break open a chest, but they're mostly just magicians).
I also love how you get magic spells, but I hardly used them.
Also it ran pretty slow and there was some pretty bad sprite flicker when there was lots of sprites on the screen, but this was only really bad on one level where you have to jump between scrolling platforms and mostly they don't appear.
Games Beaten 2014
Re: Games Beaten 2014
Did you play it through twice, I have never done it on a single playthrough, let alone twice. Just curious?
Re: Games Beaten 2014
Yeah. I've also used up TONS of lives and continues (they give you three lives per continue, but you get unlimited continues), and also used save states.
Gonna try the Genesis version and the Super NES remake.
I wish someone would combine the SMS version's system of getting powerups, the SMS and Genesis's version of aiming up, and the Super NES version's graphics and ability to double jump.

Man, when playing the Metroid game in Nintendoland, I highly recommend sitting in an office chair when controlling the ship. It changes EVERYTHING! It is crazy fun to play around in.

Haha, I've done this at least once, same for any 3DS games that use it (Face Raiders being an obvious example)BogusMeatFactory wrote:@AlienJesus

As noise said, I played through this with him, Fast, and my buddy Xen. As usual, I had the fewest deaths, the best score, the most items picked up, etc. And the Warlock still rules on the second, new campaign.
Now we're trying to get noise through Monaco. Man, I love Monaco.

36. One-on-One Basketball (7800)
37. Jak & Daxter (PS2/PS3)
38. Front Line (ARCADE/PS2)

40. Donkey Kong Country Returns (WII)
41. Barbie & The Three Musketeers (WII)
42. Ghostbusters: The Video Game (PS3)

44. Track & Field (ARCADE/DS)
45. Guitar Hero (PS2)
46. Devil May Cry (PS2/PS3)
47. The Wolf Among Us (PS3)
The Wolf Among Us is an excellent episodic adventure game that is as close as I think we will ever get to an interactive Raymond Chandler novel. (It reminded me very much of The Big Sleep.) As an aficionado of film noir and detective fiction, I enjoyed the game immensely. The mystery is intriguing and well-written; the characters and setting are well-realized (and appropriately seedy); the dialogue is natural and well-acted; and the game is consistently exciting. That said, the first two episodes are marred by technical bugs, and my save file was corrupted as the game was running the second episode's credits. The remaining episodes ran perfectly, however; so, the bugs did not significantly detract from my enjoyment of this excellent game.

Re: Games Beaten 2014
The music and atmosphere in TWAU is amazing. I thought the pacing faltered a bit in the latter episodes, but as an overall work I'd put it right up there with TWD as one of Telltale's better games.prfsnl_gmr wrote:The Wolf Among Us is an excellent episodic adventure game.

Re: Games Beaten 2014
* = replay
Fairly disjointed experience throughout the first half, but things come together later on and it was really fun. Full of boss battles that were really enjoyable to me, since you don't always see that in other stuff. This is my kind of third person shooter, monster enemies, no cover crap, it's basically straight up RE4 with the more modern control scheme of Dead Space and so on, with a few stealth elements thrown in. It's pretty damn ruthless and challenging, but I liked that about that. The game told me I died 56 times when the credits rolled. Got about 14 hours out of it and just like RE and Mikami's usual stuff, it's full of unlockables, NG+, and other stuff to keep you going for some fun replays.
The story is really bonkers and the characters probably won't be too memorable. I was iffy in the early going, but give this game a chance and things fall into place as it goes. It's Mikami after all and like classic Capcom stuff, it's just really fun with gameplay being the main focus, which is totally what I expected.
I'd probably give it an ~8/10 or so, I'd say it was just as enjoyable if not maybe slightly more than Wolfenstein The New Order for something else newer that I just finished. Top notch if you're into the genre, just not exactly ground breaking.
