Ah, haven't played those, I tend to stay away from SNES PC ports
I understand, and I think most of the console RPG fans do the same. The Wizardry series is considered quite tough, though Wizardry IV stands out as particularly soul crushing. I believe both Popo and Bone have played through it here.

If you're interested in delving more into the first person RPGs, I highly recommend giving Arcana a shot. I found it to be the most accessible of the first person dungeon crawlers on the SNES, and it's not a particularly long game but one that often gets completely overlooked. I recommend it.

7th Saga isn't too bad. It isn't even nearly as hard as something like Dragon Quest II, for instance.

Early Wizardry games are laughably difficult, especially part IV.

Wizardry IV and Deathlord (Apple II / C64) are the two most difficult RPGs I've ever played. Deathlord is probably #1. Even with the best strategy guides on Earth you're still unlikely to make progress due to so much randomization (+ auto-saving after deaths).

I have no idea what the hardest JRPG I've ever played is.

I have fond memories of Arcana! My brother and I rented it a couple times but never were able to get too far. I don't think I've played it since the early 90s.

It's totally worth going back to! I finally played through it a couple of years ago, and I thought it was great. The encounter rate could be frustrating at times(like a battle every two or three steps), but the game was a lot of fun.

Heck, if you have time, you should make a video about it. It's one that I would love to see get talked about more.

It's on the list. The trouble with reviewing games like that is that they're so time consuming. Both BoF games and the SFC RPG videos took a long time just to get a feel for how each game is. I still want to get through Lagoon, Spike McFang, Terranigma, Soul Blazer... that's just off the top of my head.

Hmm all this love for Arcana. I should look into it. I know where I can get a CIB copy for under $30.

 This is why it's dangerous to make videos more than a month in advance

The request came from a YouTube comment

EDIT: It looks like you're referring to PAL region? It's still not listed in North America

This is all I could find on it, please note I mention at the beginning of the video "North America," sorry for any confusion, but I will put an annotation on the video
