I really want some of them but I've heard bad things about it (especially the Coleco and Intelli ones).BoneSnapDeez wrote:Went to Sam's Club today and they had a giant display of the new(?) Flashback systems - Atari, Colecovision, Intellivision, and Sega.
DO WANT.

What have yous heard?
I don't own a real Coleco so that one would be at the top of my list.

the controllers are nowhere near as good as the originals. The game list is lacking pretty much every Coleco game that I'd want to play.

That's a shame.
I'll keep an eye on 'em. They're priced at $40 each now. If they drop down to $20 I'll make the plunge.
And Sam's Club blows. They wouldn't let me in the door at 9:30 because I didn't have a premium membership or some bullshit. Had to come back half an hour later.

This and I am really disappointed that the unit doesn't play original cartridges. I could overlook most of the other problems but without a way to play cartridges you would be missing out on some of Coleco's best games.noiseredux wrote:BoneSnapDeez wrote:What have yous heard?

Amazon has an excellent user video review about the unit.

Mechassault 2 is about ten times better than Mechassault.

The countless hours I spent online in both games, good times.Exhuminator wrote:Mechassault 2 is about ten times better than Mechassault.
I was actually ranked top 10 in Mechassault at one point.

My big midwest super store has them on sale for $35 right now, but they tend to go down to 75% off after the holidays. They are sitting on probably roughly 80 units for each system.BoneSnapDeez wrote:That's a shame.

I noticed that the Genesis one has a great game lineup for the price. If you don't own a Genesis, that would be a good pick up. I am looking at the colecovision and intellivision since I don't own either. It may be worth the super sale price if there are any left over.

I bought mine over a month before the release date due to a slipup by ToysRUs; posted a preliminary review a while back. The AT Games controller is not bad, the joyports are just not compatible with the original Colecovision sticks. There are some games on the PlugnPlay worth the price.noiseredux wrote:the controllers are nowhere near as good as the originals. Even with the Sega and Universal conversions they were able to license, it's still missing a lot of the big hits. The CV was always advertised as an arcade system, and without all those licensed titles it won't be as good.noiseredux wrote:The game list is lacking pretty much every Coleco game that I'd want to play.
