Been looking into these lately, wondered if you guys had any thoughts on them:

Or other suggestions to keep the interior cleaner. I've got a beefy NZXT Technologies SOURCE 220 mid tower and almost feel like it was maybe a bad idea putting in so many fans, haha. But maybe it just seems like that. I've got 5 in there.
I also think the top two are the noise problems, so I tried out some rubber isolators... and could not for the life of me get them on at all. I think they were too short compared to some others I've seen too. But I ordered these screw/rubber mounts combo and maybe it'll do the trick?

I'm kind of thinking of maybe moving to another case sometime if I have the extra money. One thing about this one I don't like is that the power button is kind of finicky and sticky, both buttons are just really cheap. I don't want that to be an issue down the road. Anything to consider when moving to another case? This is still the first rig I built from the ground up, so just making sure I take care of her. This one looks fairly similar but is a bit slicker with the cable management:

PC fan filters worth it? And misc case talk
Re: PC fan filters worth it? And misc case talk
I wouldnt bother with any unless they were super easy to take out and clean, which you'll have to do a lot. I just prefer a fairly fine metal grill over all fans like my Antec 900 case provides. It catches almost all pet hair and dust, and I just sweep with a toothbrush monthly. I only clean the inside annually.
Re: PC fan filters worth it? And misc case talk
Well it's like this: More air flow means (hopefully) better cooling but more dust inside the case. If you want less dust, then you're gonna have less air flow. It's a trade off. That fan filter that you linked doesn't look like it would restrict air all that much. But the important thing to remember is that dust will collect on it fast, and the more dust it catches the more it will restrict the air flow. So if you're gonna use filters, the trick is remembering to clean them OFTEN other wise you end up with a worse situation then dust inside your case.
Really, the best thing to do is just dust out your case as often as needed. Regardless of filters or not.

Am I weird for using dryer sheets over exposed case vents?
Re: PC fan filters worth it? And misc case talk
i got 3 Filters on my intake Fans i also have a Antec Liquid Cooler on my CPU as its overclocked , i definitely dont want dust in my radiator as it will be a dog to clean and raise temps.
i also clean my Filters once a week as they are covered in dust build up

Might not be the best thing to use, but hey, if it works then it works.http://www.ehow.com/how-does_4697201_dryer-sheet-reduce-static-cling.html wrote:The dryer sheet works to stop this from happening. Although it is not really the sheet doing the job, but rather the material the sheet is coated with. The stearic acid or other surfactant melts in the hot dryer and transfers from the dryer sheet onto the clothing. The newly lubricated clothing has less friction than before and can slip and slide against other items with less risk of static occurring. The fat molecules also bond with negatively charged ions to neutralize them or turn them positive. Hence, the articles of clothing are no longer chemically attracted. The sheet is also said to "soften" the items, since a layer of surfactant stays on the clothes after the dry cycle is complete. Some dryer sheets also add scent in this same fashion.
I've covered side vents and CPU air shrouds with filters before. I bought a pack of filters that you use for floor air vents, they seem to do the trick.

It does smell wonderful, and it cuts down on dust. Works for me!

The more restricted the air is as it passes through grills and filters, the more noise it will make too. It's all a balancing act.

Thanks for the tips. I guess a routine scrub down is the simplest and best thing to do. So... toothbrushes apparently? That's what I've been trying to figure out the few times I've cleaned the inside, what kind of utensils and whatever would be good for cleaning out the dust. Stuff that can maybe pickup and remove the dust, not just brush it around.
Also just realized those screws I ordered probably won't work because my fans are closed chasis, not open. That's probably why it was impossible to get those rubber isolators on too. Really I think it's just the top two fans making the noise, so if I can somehow tweak those it'll probably be fine.
