I'm ashamed to admit that all three games so far I've never really played before this month. This is why I enjoy these kinds of things, makes me go away from what I'm used to and learn something new.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.

Code for the extra characters, in case anyone wants it:
At the title screen, insert coin and press: up, up, left, down, down, right, A, B, A, B, A, Start.
I created a save state on the character select screen, so that I don't have to input the code every time I boot the game up.

Man, I was struggling. I hate reading up on games - I like to feel the strategy...but I was struggling. I knew the funnest part of the game, and the most strategic, was exposing the 108 items...and my first 2 runs, I exposed 0 - I was completely baffled. I couldn't recall the polarity either...so a quick visit to the shmups strategy thread brought it back --- in all its glory.
Love this game. Only half a dozen runs so far and trying to remember the power levels required to open up the items to complete my sets. Nothing better than being on stage 1 and seeing, "Food Completed!". Such a great great game. So pleased to be playing this again.
Nowhere near a PB, but a start (new cabs not here yet, so playing on the FREE PVM I picked up yesterday

Not so fast. I expect Skate, hasirya and Fox all to do well with this one. 5.8 mil is an excellent start, but i'd be surprised if it held up. There are tons of big medals and hidden items that are worth 100K a pop and they are plentiful, just gotta put it together in one run. I think 7.5 or so is going to be needed for top spot...ExedExes wrote:#1 is set for the week. Looks like we won't be tied for first come next Saturday.

Can't settle on a character - want to use Gremlin but just so slow once onto stage 3...

This game is ridiculous. I haven't figured out if that's a good or bad thing yet.

Yeah, so this is gonna take a while for me to figure out. There is so much stuff going on in this game between all the different ships, items, elements, gauges/levels, charge timing, on and on. I might resort to just blowing up stuff and dgaf about everything else. Probably missing out on a lot of the game that way, but whatever.

So not to be a dick, but is there any documentation anywhere stating that JP on 3 is the same as euro on 4? I can't find anything other than "JP version is harder."

I can't - I also looked after this was brought up and I find the same thing, just an accepted theorem that "JP version is harder". FWIW, yesterday I played a few runs on both 3 and 4 difficulty, being attentive to number of bullets, speed of bullets, etc and really could not see any discernable differences.skate323k137 wrote:So not to be a dick, but is there any documentation anywhere stating that JP on 3 is the same as euro on 4? I DECREE - LEVEL 4 DIFFICULTY FOR ALL REGIONS!
