Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel - PC
This game was a bit hit and miss with me. I had heard a quite a few people say it felt like a big piece of DLC for Borderlands 2 and I guess that is the best way to describe it. It does not bring all that much new to the table and other than the anti gravity stuff, most of the new things I don't really care for.

The accents (Australian, way over the top) and the overall "Aussie-ness" of the game by 2K Australia is over the top, every second character talks like Steve Irwin (Who of course is Parodied in the game), I just felt they went too far with it and it go old pretty fast. Another major weakness are the side missions, they are really fetch questish, which is normal, but they tend to go a lot longer than the ones in BL2, with nothing really interesting happening in them.

The story and game picks up a bit in the second half, it is quite a bit shorter than BL2 as well. I would say the gameplay lies between BL1 and BL2, but everything is is sub BL1.

Another game not beaten:

Metal Gear Solid 4.

I freaking hate this game. I go through a phase every now and then where I convince myself that all the rave reviews, rabid fans, and popularity that surrounds this game has got to mean that I'm wrong.

No, I'm not wrong. Everything about this game sucks because the developers demonstrated no restraint whatsoever. The game timer says I've been playing for 12 hours - no, that can be right because I don't feel like I've gotten to play for 12 hours. Maybe 3 or 4. It's all cutscenes.

Worse yet, the story is stupid. You can only suspend disbelief so far before your brain buys a plane ticket, leaves a passive aggressive note, and moves on without ever looking back.

I am going to bookmark this page so that I can refer to it later on in life when I convince myself for some reason to pick this game up again.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Yeah that game is horrendous. I got it free in a B2G1 sale so at least I don't feel cheated out of money.

You are not crazy. I have been trying to get through the Metal Gear Solid series for a long time and only recently finished the first and moved on to the second, which I am finding to be unbearable. I do not find the story to be interesting, the characters to be likeable and the game design to be horribly unintuitive. The game just doesn't click to my style of play in the slightest.

Oh well. I guess I still have the old-school Splinter Cell games.

That may technically be true but all of those games are pretty terrible. It'd be like ranking the Bubsy games in order.

I'm not going to win many friends around here.

I actually quite like all the Metal Gear games except Solid 4. The reason Solid 4 makes me so frustrated is that it is the canonical end of several of the series' main characters - and it's terrible. They are still making excellent prequels but whenever I play those, somewhere in the back of my head is the knowledge that no matter how enjoyable this game may be, it all ends in the shit storm that is Solid 4.

In fairness, my ranking of the MGS games has very little to do with the inane story they tell

Add my voice to the chorus of people who enjoy this game. It is a little slow to get going (I wasn't sold in the first hour or two), but once you kind of get the hang of things and the combat opens up a bit, it is quite fun. Probably the best Middle Earth-based game ever made, not that there was a very high bar to begin with...
