Probably the weirdest controller I own is the SNES Turbo Touch 360...

Ahh, I gotta get an Arkanoid paddle one of these days.

I got it from a friend and never bothered to try it out. I always imagined it not working too good. Apparently the D-Pad is replaced with a sort of touch pad though. I've seen pictures of Genesis (3-button) and NES versions.

Re: Weird & Awesome Game Controllers
The most odd controller I own that hasn't been brought up here yet is the Capcom Pad Soldier.
(apologies for the glare)
That's the Genesis version, but I think there's a SNES equivalent. Surprisingly comfortable. Well built. And six-button, which is a huge plus.
I've got the Xbox version of that Gamester FPS controller. I can vouch for it being comfortable. The 'face' buttons take some getting used to though.

It isn't really weird, but I'm still dying to find one of those MegamanX Gamecube controllers for a reasonable price.

That Gemini is a very strange controller!Metal Jesus wrote:<GEMINI FREAK SERIES CONTROLLER>

What are some of the more unusual controllers in your collection?
I like the Nyco iType 2! The keypad is a nice extra though seldom used. However, the analog sticks are further apart, for me a more comfortable grip. Also have the ridiculously huge PS2 and Gamecube key board units for a very wide stance of the analog sticks. Interesting that the PS2 keyboard detaches inviting putting some other kind of controller add on mod in the middle.

I have a different version of that Madcatz Racing Wheel, a Hori PS2 Zero Tech 2. Noteworthy of driving controllers is the undocumented capability of gaining a Spinner option in some of the Arcade compilations on various consoles. This really works well with the "RC Driving" controllers.

My pick would have to be the PS1 Flightstick which only supported around 30 PS1 games and two PS2 games. However with a Mayflash adapter (Wii Classic or Gamecube) ALL Gamecube and Wii Classic controller games work, a nice discovery. Though not anywhere near as cool as the Steel Batalion Controller set, the two flightstick unit is unique and perfect for Helicopter Cyclic Collective sims and games that play well with two sticks such as Wii Sky Crawlers.
I imagine that Xbox Steel Battalion controller could be adapted to work on a PC with a couple of USB adapters.
I remember you posted that Battlestation, that controller so huge! Have you ever looked into a button solder jumper mod to work with other consoles such as the PS2? Once you get a dual shock support, it opens possiblities of so many consoles and the PC with inexpensive controller adapters.Hobie-wan wrote:Odd controllers are always fun, even if they aren't necessarily fun to use. My biggest one is the Battlestation II. Not my video, but I do have a boxed one. I haven't messed with my Splitfish Edge FX that I grabbed new from Gamestop for 99 cents.
I also have two SplitFish Edge FX mouse mouse nunchuck combos; it came out before the Wii nunchuck. You should give it a try. Though not as quick as a PC mouse since the Spitfish Mouse emulates the analog stick, it actually works well. The mouse pad is not needed; the Nunchuck can be detached. Since the mouse is a laser, any flat surface with the nunchuck in the other hand is fine. You gain the precise aiming inherit of mice augmented by a separate mouse trigger which slows the movement for the cursor for fine move adjustment. To max out the turn moves just set the game menu to maximum analog stick sensitivity.
