What I want is some new ones released for 8th gen systems. Vita, 3DS, and Wii U would be perfect platforms. A Hudson compilation released in the US would be nice. I can dream, right?

It's a language I guess I could say I'm fluent in as well. I got way too much stuff there.

Off the top of my head --

Midway Arcade Treasures (PC) - repackaged from the Win 95 collections, not that good on modern machines because of that, I really need to see about getting it on the GC.

Midway Arcade Treasures Deluxe (PC) - basically MAT 2 & 3 in one package, includes the original Mortal Kombat that the console ports don't have -- but infamous for missing sound/music that required a Day One patch back in the day as well as that nasty StarForce DRM.

Taito Legends (PC) - Sold collection. Lots of nice stuff here, and it runs well on newer PCs.

Taito Legends 2 (PC) - Even more good stuff, 1/3 of the collection is shmups, but again, that nasty StarForce DRM.

Atari 80 Games In 1 (PC) - runs great on XP, not so much on newer machines.

Activision Anthology (PC) - One of the few compilations I have that runs well on PCs better than XP. Also includes tons of Imagic and homebrew games (more games than the console ports too, I believe)

Namco Museum (DC) - this was also released on PS1 and N64, rather lazy job putting it together, games are faithful, but no cool bonuses like in the first 5 PS1 releases.

Konami Arcade Advanced (GBA) - Very nice collection of 6 games, all with original and enhanced modes. No high score saves though.

Sega Arcade Gallery (GBA) - Again, very nice. After Burner is unplayable due to enemy missles being difficult to see and avoid, and again no high score saves.

Pac Man Collection (GBA) - Developed by the same outfit that did the PS1/DC/N64 Namco Museum, but includes Pac Man Arrangement (from Namco Classics Collection II) and Pac Attack (16 bit).

Activision Anthology (GBA) - Even though it has fewer games than it's PC counterpart, it's just as good AND it's like having a portable Atari 2600.

Midway Arcade Treasures 2 (GC) - Still my favorite MAT of all time. On the GC however, Wizard of Wor runs way too fast (and I hear it does on the PS2 port too).

Namco Museum 50th Anniversary (GC) - Nice collection of Namco stuff, way better than the 5th gen sloppy effort.

Intellivision Lives! (GC) - The definitive Intellivision collection. LOTS of games.

That's a good start for some good compilations. I just happen to like collecting them.

Midway Arcade Treasures 3 is so boss. Never thought I'd be so thrilled with a comp that contains nothing but racing games, but Midway sure knows how to make them.

The PSP Midway comp also contains Mortal Kombat 1.

Make sure you get the Data East Collection on Wii if you can find it.

My favorite comp is Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. Amazing stuff. It even contains Golden Axe Warrior as an unlockable. My only complaints are some silly unlockables requirements and the fact that it doesn't contain Shadow Dancer or Sword of Vermilion (both of which previously appeared on the Sega Genesis Collection).

The Mega Man Anniversary Collection is probably my favorite collection, just because it introduced me to the bulk of the series proper. However, it pains me to admit that the GC version is inferior to the Xbox and even the PS2 version. It is still an excellent compilation, though. :)

On the PC MAT 3 ran pretty good. It's too bad MAT 2 is just such a hot mess on some of the games. Wizard of Wor runs at regular speed on the PC, compared to the console ports, but Hard Drivin is absolutely unplayable on the PC (loose controls) unless you play it on the consoles.

MAT 3 is good because it's got games that would require a lot of work to emulate such as SF Rush, Hydro Thunder and Offroad Thunder.

GC port may only be inferior because the buttons were reversed. Otherwise it was decent, and you got the 30 minute G4 special "Making of" video on that port.

EDIT: Whoops, turns out the Xbox port came out later and included the PS2 and GC exclusives as well as correct button mappings. I stand corrected.

EDIT2: There was a GBA version planned with all 5 MM GB games? DAMN. They're not cheap on their own!!!!!

Pro-tip for the MMAC on the GC; if you use the X & Y buttons then the button assignments are the way you'd expect; the one under the joint of your thumb is jump and the one under the tip of your thumb is shoot.

Someone on here posted their PS3 went YLOD when watching a DVD movie. Get a PS2, why put unnecessary mileage of running a PS2 game on a PS3? Not saying non PS3 games cause YLOD, but would be ironic if it occurred. PS2 games are better in the PS2 Fat anyways for the internal hard drive install option.

Nice collection! Look for the PS1 incarnations for a unique feature. Thru the Menu, Player two controller can be adjusted as part of Player one for Twin Stick Games, perfect for hooking up two arcade sticks! Oh and there is also Dip Switch setting simulating the real switches inside the arcade Cab.

These PS2 collections are essential for 2D fighting fans: <Another Nice List>
I recently picked up an obscure PS2 game called Fugitive Hunter: War on Terror. Its a terrible game as in a cheap B movie; so cheesy it is good? Basic FPS and then a beat em up with various boss enemies. A real simple button masher worth a laugh, but who is that guy?
