Organizing Wires (The Wire Mess From Hell)
Hey everyone,
So I have been working on getting my room squared, and for the most part I did a good job. But I'm hitting a snag. All of the wires are an absolute mess! Any tips on how to organize them?

Wire looms, velcro cord keepers, or twist ties to neaten up the extra and bundle stuff together.

Velcro cord keepers are God's gift to cable management. They are reusable cableties*.
I was given two packs of these a couple years ago:

And have bought a dozen since.
Or you can go with the more industrial wire sleeve method. Or be a boss and do free hanging conduit. Actually doing conduit would be a pain with specialty cables.
*I know you can undo a cabletie and reuse it. But that is not what they were designed for.

A third rousing cheer for those velcro cable ties. I also take the sticky labels meant for file folders, and wrap them over the outlet ends of the cables to label them too. If you want to funnel the wires in a particular spot, toilet paper rolls/paper towel rolls work wonders for piping cables, or PVC pipe if you've got a workshop handy. You can attach the rolls pretty much anywhere to hide everything out of sight. Binder clips attached discreetly to the edges of your furniture can hold up the ends of cables so you're not constantly reaching and pulling and wrapping them.

Thanks so much guys! I bought a few bundles and will be getting them in Friday. Any tips on where to place them for maximum organization?
Re: Organizing Wires (The Wire Mess From Hell)
If depends completely on your particular cable arrangement, width of cables, and how you want to run them. There is no right or wrong way, just the hide them neatly way.

You've got your work cut out for you. :p
Can easily attach some rolls behind the thicker parts of your entertainment unit and cable tie the rest. Might be easier to sketch it out roughly on paper before committing.

put some of those 3M sticky things on the bottom of each of those boxes to keep them flat on the top of the counter.
