Re: PC build thread
you guys asked for some Alien Isolation screenshots, so...

looks nice, yeah?
Incidentally, this game has me frustrated. It was probably my most anticipated game of 2014 and I'm struggling to get into it big time. I've spent 2 hrs with it fumbling around in the dark, confused about what I'm supposed to do next. I haven't seen... well... anything yet. It's kind of annoying. At first I was scared, but now I'm just inching on bored. But mostly annoyed because walking around in the dark in first person sucks. Once in a while I find a generator and get some lights on... the on to another dark area. Then another vague goal to complete. And TBH, the 20 or so hours of hiding ahead of me isn't feeling like something to look forward to at this point. I'm kind of bummed right now, but also feel like something's wrong with me. Everyone hated Colonial Marines and I had a good time. Everyone's raving about Isolation and I'm sort of struggling to have fun with it. What the heck?

Good man. Apparently Zotac is legit. Is that the tiny 970?noiseredux wrote:so this happened...

Sweet. I'm tinkering with the idea of going 970 SLI. The base Zotac is nice because it doesn't occupy a triple slot. Decisions.noiseredux wrote:yeah smallest one.

Re: PC build thread
The last few days I have been struggling because I was pretty certain my laptop was failing again (only 20 days out of warranty of course). Luckily, it looks like my ram was just failing. Been running stable for about 23 hours now with no kernel panics on 4gb I managed to fine lying around.
I also picked up a Mad Catz MOUS9 to use on the road as a portable mouse. It's hideous and the software is a bit glitchy but it's also comfortable and surprisingly usable as a gaming mouse despite the 125hz polling rate (sounds worse than it feels). The single double A battery is also said to last a full year without needing to be replaced.
I don't think I'd be as happy with it if I had to pay the full MSRP of $120 but at $60 it's not a bad mouse.
Also I don't think I can ever go back to 1080p for regular desktop use. I LOVE having this much real estate.
