Got rid of the bar on the bottom - thanks, Doc.

Still have the top of the window (noise that trick didn't work) - BUT, the top is not bothering me near as much as the bottom was since I play on the bottom half after stage 1.

How is everyone else doing - I figured first day, Saturday, we'd have lots of action today...

I'm experimenting with the charge shot ship - love his power and am able to get 1.2 mil on stage 1 w/him, but his charge shot takes 2 direct full charge hits on the larger enemies on stage 2 and if you don't kill them, they spray the screen something fierce and I die in a place I normally wouldn't. I still think Beam is the best for my style.

Don't be intimidated by Doc's score either - he's a top 50 in the world Jamestown player - so don't worry that you are nowhere near that score yet, just get something up - I expect scores to be very similar to Garegga across the board.

EDIT: improvement
mjmjr25 - The Smorking Section - 2,401,775 - Stage 3 - Beam

I'm so close to stringing my chain through to the 1st boss - i'm up to 117 seconds - if I can delay that last kill just a fraction of a second more i've got it - so so close.

Somewhat of a recurring theme on this subforum

Oh wait, Fox won BG?! Ok then.

I just bought this game, of course I'll have something.

I know I can probably hit this score on Stage 1 if I can just keep the chain. Stage 2 seems pretty simple thus far and my death seemed quite preventable. Hopefully I can pop this over 2-2.5m without a ton of work.

Slightly below my PB (which is 8.3 million). Time to start practising Dimahoo, I guess...

Playing this game for score has made me go from really liking the game to loving it.

The feeling in the pit of my gut that I get for keeping/losing a chain is akin to what I get from the best DDP games, and I am starting to yell at the game with regularity which means that I am having a blast :D

Getting right close to 2mil now. Really would like to see some folks other than Mike and Doc post so I can get a sense of if that's any good

You can check against world leaders - not on right now, but I think 2 mil would put you in the top 15% of submitted scores.

Also - reminder or new suggestion, depending if you are playing for the first time - if you get a good score - be sure to hit "submit score" to have it posted to the online leaderboard.

Also again - Doc said earlier, after you die, be careful to not hit anything or you'll continue the run and can't use the score - it comes up FAST and you might instinctively try to keep shooting or something.

I have one around 1.8m submitted I think, but didn't look at where that compared to those submitted worldwide. This is a game that soooo many people have picked up for cheap over the years in Humble Bundles and Steam sales that I am not sure how useful those leaderboards are.

Also, does it let you submit for a run that you continued in? That would kill it's usefulness too...
