saturn multitap question

I heard a rumor that the eclipse game pads will not work with a multitap for some reason.
Is it true only the sega branded controllers will work with a multitap?

I hope not because I just got a multitap and have 2 Naki cordless controllers.

I have a Multitap and an eclipse pad, if no one else replys, pm me over the weekend and I'll test it out for you
