I'm going on record to say the DS Lite is the best portable gaming system ever made.
I'm not saying the rest aren't good, but nothing touches the DS Lite in my book.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
It's worth snagging one of those 3-in-1 Expansion carts. They're cheap, and you can pretty much play any GBA game that way. (I've also got a ton of GBA games, but it's nice to be able to dump your own carts and saves and have them all on the go if you so choose.) It's amazing that I paid less than $20 for that, when I bought a FlashAdvance 256M Pro back in the day for more than I shelled out for the actual system...
I'm inclined to agree that, once you factor in the BC, the DS Lite stomps almost everything else out there. Although the 3DS makes a strong case given its BC to DS as well. Man, that's such a hard decision to make...

I've got a couple of those, and I agree, they're great. Here's a link explaining all about them: http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/3_in_1_Exp ... EZ-Flash_VSarge wrote:3-in-1 Expansion carts. They're cheap, and you can pretty much play any GBA game that way

30 more than I have, legit reason though I've kept it sealed so far -- other games. Between the stuff I'm discovering I don't like (New Yoshi's Island) and selling off other systems in this last year (Wii + library, most the PS3 games) and just old games I'm done with I've paired back at least 50+ games off my collection and in turn my backlog too. Backlog is why it isn't touched.FerretGamer wrote:I've played Smash Bros. for a whole 30 minutes.![]()
*sigh* Too many games. I'll get back to it eventually. I'm just way too absorbed by Sunset Overdrive.
I've got 4 NES, 10 Famicom, 5 SNES, 6 GBA and 1 GC game left unfinished for old stuff and then 1 WiiU, 3 PS4, and 4 3DS games not done yet. It was like twice that size. When I feel happy where I am on the pile, I'll open it, same reason I've let like 3 PS4 releases slide without buying yet.

You're a better man than me. I'm pretty good about not buying releases on day one though. It's just that I've been a long time and frequent member at cheapassgamer, so I've amassed a backlog of games.Tanooki wrote:30 more than I have, legit reason though I've kept it sealed so far -- other games. Where can you get those 3-in-1? I had one but it is not saving anymore, and I already tried replacing the battery.

It looks like Real Hot Stuff still has some. I know they're a little pricier than some places, but I've never had an issue dealing with them. Been a long time since I ordered anything from there, though.Ivo wrote:Where can you get those 3-in-1? I had one but it is not saving anymore, and I already tried replacing the battery.
My version is actually the fat-style one that I got for my original DS, not the slim profile. I don't know if this is the older revision or the newer one that has 512Mb of NOR memory. I'm not sure why you'd need larger, but it exists.

Give it six months. Nintendo rarely misses an opportunity to milk the Pokemon franchise.darsparx wrote:That and no emerald :-\
Re: Nintendo 3DS
I decided long ago other than a rare moonlighting of the main page for deals, it would be a rotten idea to regular or even worse sign up there because I'd have a stack of junk I'd never use or damn near it. I did a thing like that in the mid90s with oldwarez on irc and loaded up a small hard drive with anything I could and used maybe 10% of it if that. Only now in the last few years I've been offloading shelf sitting games for the same reason more or less.FerretGamer wrote: You're a better man than me. Re: Nintendo 3DS
I'm not holding my breath, especially since they haven't been wise enough to post some of the games in the original forms to the VC(which would be smart because they could easily charge $10-15 per game and people would still buy it up like crazy).samsonlonghair wrote:Give it six months. That's why I'm resisting going to a site like that unless it's getting games from major franchises like mario, zelda, DK, kirby and etcFerretGamer wrote:You're a better man than me.
