Re: Hip Hop/Rap Fanatics Unite!
After all these years, I still think Kool Keith and Rakim are the best rappers alive. Very different rappers, but both are utterly brilliant.
I do think Ninja from Die Antwoord has some skills too, he gets a bit better with every new album.

Holy ballz with the Aphex Twin ref.Exhuminator wrote: I do think Ninja from Die Antwoord has some skills too, he gets a bit better with every new album.
I've always loved "Frikans", but this madness is brilliant.
Re: Hip Hop/Rap Fanatics Unite!
Reference? That was borderline plagiarism. They basically just rapped over Aphex Twin's track "Ageispolis".
That track shouldn't have lyrics in my opinion. That whole rap was unnecessary.

Not licensed at all? That's terrible if true, as I have always thought Aphex Provided the "Sick Beats".J T wrote:Reference? That was borderline plagiarism. They basically just rapped over Aphex Twin's track "Ageispolis".

Depressing.
Re: Hip Hop/Rap Fanatics Unite!
It probably had RDJ's approval, given that he DJ'd with them a few years ago:
I just personally dislike when MCs rap over another artist's song and do little to creatively add to the music, and then make it a single and it gets confused as being the rapper's music, when they actually had little to do with it.
I fink you're super freaky and you can't touch this a lot.

Considering Richard D. James can be seen dancing with Yolandi in that video, I'm pretty sure he was okay with it. He's the guy wearing the "Hello My Name Is God" shirt, in case you missed it.J T wrote:It probably had RDJ's approval[/i]

I recognized the Windowlicker character, but read elsewhere that it was not RDJ in the Die Antwoord video, but someone else in a mask.Exhuminator wrote:Considering Richard D. Nothing would surprise me when it comes to RDJ.J T wrote:I recognized the Windowlicker character, but read elsewhere that it was not RDJ in the Die Antwoord video, but someone else in a mask.Exhuminator wrote:Considering Richard D.
