Mache's Game setup

Post by Mache »

Hi everybody. I have been visiting this site for some time now and it is the best place for retrogaming I can find. Thank you, Racketboy, for a great site.

Anyway, it is now time for me to share with you my game setup. It is not much, but it is all I got for now. I am planning a game room in the basement in the near future so I will show you guys the progress of that.

Here is my current setup

Here is the rundown:

Gamecube
Playstation 2
Dreamcast
Xbox 360
Wii
Panasonic plasma-TV
Samsung DVD with HDD

The GC and DC are PALs and the PS2 is NTSC/J and they are all hooked up with Scart Cables displaying RGB colors. The 360 is hooked with a component-cable but I am switching to a HDMI soon. The Wii is using ordinary composite cables which gives poor quality, but they will be changed later. The DVD is also hooked up with a Scart-cable but can use a HDMI which I will purchase sometime soon. The DC will get a VGA-cable soon.

I also have a Nintendo 64 (PAL) that is have not unpacked after I moved to my new house. Most of my games are still in boxes, mostly to protect them. But I will unpack them when I am done in the basement.

Sorry If I couldn't photograph my games, but I will when the basement is ready. :)

When I moved to my new house I did not bother to unpack the games because I am planning a game room in the basement so they are still in boxes. I only have a couple of games unpacked.

I did not feel that taking a photo of a box with games. I may lay them out later and take a snapshot, but we'll see.

I assure you, there will be pictures. :)

Looking Forward to the basement pictures. I sent you an Xbox friend request. You should post in the 360 Gamertag thread!

I try to keep it as clean as possible. I don't like when the consoles look like a mess. The problem is that I am also a lazy person which means that I like it when it is tidy, but I don't have the energy to tidy it up. :) Hopefully I will keep it cleaner from now on.

I have an update on what's going to happen with my setup.

Me and my wife are planning to refurnish the living room. And we are planning to buy some bookcases and also a new furniture for the TV. This one:

The plan is to place it horizontal and have one console in each shelf. On top we will put the DVD-player and put the Plasma on the wall above it. It will either be black or white. We haven't decided yet.

We already have this furniture but with 4 x 4 the shelves. It will look like this when it has the consoles:

I'm planning to put LED-lights as the images is showing the a cool light effect. :) So this is the setup I am planning in the living room. As I said before, the game room will happed and I will likely move this to the basement later.

Thats a perfect console stand. I have been looking around for just such a thing. I may have to look into that one. I hope you get it!
