Not once, until today, and that answer came from Doc in the form of "well, this should work".
I don't see your frustration. I'm not sure which questions weren't answered. If this about DS and blitter rate...I have no opinion and will not offer one.

What other questions were not answered. Dsh asked questions about Garegga day 1, they were answered and posted in the OP.

Here is some history that you may find helpful:
Initial list released; Exed let us know what had issues, and we replaced those games:
http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 53#p927853

Game list released on 10.28.14 - there are even handy asterisks to explain how close votes were, but also that voting had not moved in a couple days:

Here is a teammate seeing the list, and liking it!

Here is Exed, on my request, telling us which roms are working trouble free in MAME:

Here are the questions I see from you, outside of DS blitter which I thought Doc had answered, questioning the list or the roms prior to today:

As for Garegga and SATURN advantage:

dunpeal2064 last week wrote:Speaking of which, you folks playing Garegga on your Saturn machines will want to make sure you clear the game (credit feeding is fine) before the competition, as that is the only way to unlock the slowdown feature. Otherwise you will be playing the game with no slowdown whatsoever, which will obviously make your attempts at a high score more difficult than those playing in Mame.

The slowdown thing on saturn... if I credit feed through, will it enable it automagically, or is there another option I have to find in the menu for it?

Alright, I'll give this one more shot:

Since you are running the tournament, I do wish you had just told me that, that yo uhad no say on the matter, in the first place, because as the organizer, I look at you as having the say as to what rules are in place. Like I said before, this can be confusing for a lot of people, and when my only answer was silence, I was unsure of where to go from there.

My other concerns are over red bullet and its allowance/barring. This may have been covered, but people are still asking questions about it today, and I saw no final say on this. Perhaps I missed it.

As to your quote on me and Garegga, I'm not sure what the :| is for?

1. Garegga does not have slowdown in the Saturn port. You have to clear the game to unlock it. If you don't, your game will be harder.

2. Once you do, you will be playing a superior version of the game, since it lacks in put lag found in the pcb, and allows for red ball (if we are allowing that).

@skate: I believe you still have to turn it on in a menu once you credit feed through and unlock it. The Garegga Strat thread in shmups forum has a menu translation that could help with this, if you have trouble finding it just shoot me a PM and we'll get it right for ya.

Really just want everyone on the same page and having fun. I obviously stepped out of bounds in doing so, so apologies. I hope everyone is enjoying blowin stuff up :)

It's all good dude.

As for blitter - i'm repeating here, but I didn't comment because to me, it had been answered directly by Doc, and again by Exed saying there were no issues w/the rom he posted. For me to chime in with zero knowledge on whatever blitter is or isn't, didn't make sense to me. I still don't have an opinion other than the opinion from day one, 360 or MAME. Our resident MAME experts gave the green light so there is no reason (that I see) to comment further.

As for ball or bullet. I've never played in MAME, so have no idea if there is an option for ball, it sounds like there isn't. That said, when it came up day one, I had said ball or bullet are ok, guest ships are ok, and the OP was updated that day and has reflected this since 11.1.14.

As for slow-down on the SAT version, I know I personally don't have the time to credit feed through each time I turn it on to enable the slowdown. I put in my 3-4 runs a day and call it good - I get the feeling from most screen shots most are doing the same - I don't think anyone is feeding it through to get slow-down, but I wouldn't have an issue or preference if they were. If someone does do this and they feel it grossly improves their performance - then we shoudl talk about not allowing it I guess, for now scores seem about right to what I would have envisioned, with scores across both formats being intermingled.

My saturn saves the other settings (tate, etc.) so I don't see why it wouldn't save the slowdown if that were unlocked. I suppose I can try it later. I don't feel like it should be disallowed unless it's a clear advantage over the arcade.

Mine doesn't. I did change the cr2032, but I have no idea if it's the battery or the system - the batteries are those 5/$1 from Hong Kong - but yeah, I have to reset everything every time.

If your batt is good, your save memory is probably just full. It's been a long time, but I think if you boot to the CD player there's a save memory manager. Try clearing some stuff out if you can (if there's nothing in there, then there's a different problem, but if you don't have to set the clock on boot every time than this is probably what's going on).

From what I gather on the shmups forum the option is "WAIT CONTROL" or "WAIT ON" and the slowdown is similar to, but not exactly the same as, the arcade. I think it should be ok. I'll try to give it a shot later. (Edit, I googled this every way possible, and it really seems like the saturn version will run faster than arcade/mame without this option enabled. From what I gather, having WAIT ON will be closer to the arcade than having it off / not unlocked)

What's the MAME version you got Fox? The Dimahoo (Euro) is the main parent rom in the latest build. US version I imagine wouldn't have any differences aside from maybe a Capcom USA copyright on the title screen.

I'll have to check later, but what I do know is that it is whatever version works with Shumpmame 3.0
