no. There's no tracking of votes that I know of. All we know is that when Mike announced the schedule he said Dimahoo won. Nobody at that time said "hey now, that's not right!" so I'd assume he read the numbers correctly?
Scandal!

Typical Republican tactics of obfuscating the vote! Mike can't be trusted, voters demand a recount NOW!

DIMA WHO?

Well, I've been trying to make this fun and not get all bothered like I usually do when it comes to this stuff, so I am willing to just go with that assumption.

I do hope the next one of these goes a little more smoothly though. Jamestown, Dimahoo, and DS all had questionable things going on AS the tourney is going. Not blaming anyone, I know this isn't anyone's job, but... well, I get frustrated easily, and this is how I get away from that, so when it also becomes frustrating... yeah.

Feelin like an oopsIdiditagain.gif would be fitting. Gotta spark that shmup drama I guess.

Dsh, you are awesome.

Well thanks, Chaz :|

Everything was posted what, 10 days ago? There were 0 (ZERO) comments at the time that my eyes weren't working. Vote totals hadn't changed for 2 days when the winners were announced.

As for issues with games - I wish you'd spoken up then and not now. I posted a preliminary list of games - Exed and I think Doc as well spoke to issues with some games and a new list was announced that excluded the games w/MAME troubles. The new list was declared good to go - ZERO issues and NO ONE said anything to the contrary...until today.

I can't control people not participating but still voting - we have 24 votes for week 4, we don't have that many people participating. There is no way to control that.

That EspGaluda has now passed Dimahoo after the games were announced means *Van down by the river voice* JACK SQUAT to me. I don't care which we play, but for sake of cleanliness, i'm not changing the plan a week before because someone not even in the competition went and voted after the game was announced.

As for Jamestown mode - I agree w/Doc, Legendary it should be.

I am sad that some people don't have a way to access STEAM - I am open to suggestion if we can get 100% consensus on something else? I'm open to something like playing another shmup side by side and I can think on a way that we would score it - I want everyone to have access - my thought was if you are on racket, you have access to a PC, and steam is free on PC.

I really wasn't trying to take a jab at you man, so I apologize, but it just has been a little frustrating, because

I DID  I asked about Deathsmiles multiple times, perfectly calmly, just wanting a simple answer. I asked last week, I asked a few days ago, and it was only TODAY, when I asked, that Doc offered his opinion on the matter. While I agree with it, I still didn't (and don't) know if that is what we are going with. I asked questions about Jamestown multiple times as well.

For the Dimahoo/Galuda thing, I just did not see a solidified "This is what we are playing " list, instead I just saw "Its between these games", so out of curiosity I decided to look for myself, and was obviously confused.

When the explanation is "Well, for the first time ever votes were locked, polls weren't close, two random people must have come in and voted", yeah, I had questions about it.... and then I said I would just go with it, and play Dimahoo, as to not stir up more trouble over this.

If the final post was made 10 days ago I missed it. It should be in the main thread in the front page as per usual, but thats my bad. I'm not johnny on the spot when it comes to this stuff, I literally just noticed it and asked what was up.

We are only playing 4 games and questions were still up in the air about 3, and people are still TODAY asking for clarity on Garegga rules, which I just ended up answering myself, even though I have no idea if I was right or not. :?

Again, no offense meant man, but maybe you can see my frustration a little bit, as I have asked these questions multiple times, before the tourney even started, and never once got an answer. Not once, until today, and that answer came from Doc in the form of "well, this should work".

Hmm, not entirely true...I did post something similar about MAME/blitter for Deathsmiles back on 26th Oct (which you replied to, so you definitely saw it). I just didn't give an actual value for the blitter setting back then...

Okay

1. That didn't answer my question. I asked "What settings are we using" you replied with "Well blitter makes it pretty accurate". What good is that without numbers, honestly? And, I practically live in shmups forum, I know the suggested blitter rate, but I wanted to know what OUR rules are, both so that I can follow them, and so that they rest of the participants have some clue as to what we are doing. A lot of people here don't even know what blitter is, and those people could be playing DS in mame, and have a terrible time.

2. You also said, in that same post iirc, that DFK worked well in Mame, which is wrong, flat out. I've put more time into that game than any other shmup, and have tested it in Mame, and it is impossible with current builds to get it accurate, or even close.

So, with both incorrect information and a roundabout non-answer, I did not feel that what I asked was addressed.

What is frustrating is that this isn't rocket science. Rules and suggested settings should be clearly posted, not "Well I said something on the 26th in a post somewhere".

Well, fair enough, but (a) I'm not the one organising the tournament; and (b) that particular game is still three weeks away, so I didn't think it was particularly urgent at the time. :)

I'm not actually taking this too seriously, so I'll let everyone else sort it out from now on.

IDK, I'm pretty unsure on Jamestown because at his point, the only thing my laptop can do decently anymore is run Shmupmame. Also, is there a certain region of Dimahoo we should be playing, because I had to DL the USA rom to work with the version I have. Is the US port no good?
