Hello. I really enjoy this website so I have this question
I just recived a Sega Saturn Model MK-80000A from a good friend. So now I am looking into what I need exactly to play games I burn. I already know how to burn them I just need to know how to play them. I have been reading about an action replay that plays imports but would it also play my burned games. Thanks in advance!

http://www.racketboy.com/retro/2005/05/ ... aturn.html You need a mod chip to burn games. You need a mod chip and a Action Replay to play import burned games.

Damn that sucks i need a mod chip to play the burned games. I was hoping I didn't.

You don't have to have a mod chip, you can swap trick. Although it's more difficult to do on a model 2, it's super easy on a model 1. Also if your only concerned about burned games you don't need a action replay, you can region patch the files before you burn them, but if you want to play legit imports then you would need an AR.

Luckily there cheap and very easy to install, very easy. Just make sure its a model 2 Saturn, almost always it has round buttons instead of oval buttons. The swap trick will work for most games though. Its just a pain in the ass.mike_da_killa wrote:Damn that sucks i need a mod chip to play the burned games. I was hoping I didn't.

a saturn game shark will also let you play imports if you want a really cheap alternative to the action replay. i use my game shark to play most of my import Japanese shooters

http://www.jandaman.com/Merchant2/merch ... y_Code=SAT They have the Action Replay in stock. This is where I bought my modchip. Unfornately no more modchip though. Try to pm some merchants like racket and jandaman, maybe they can obtain one for you.

I just bought a 4 in 1 action replay cart from that site someone from like 3 posts above me gave a link to. Just curious, what is a "action replay codes"? Does this thing act as a game genie?
