We need to ask Obama if he's pro or against Weyou, it's going to be fun to watch the aftermath :D

It's nice to have general threads for casual discussion, but interesting games deserve their own thread so not only can we focus on that, but years from now someone can search the forum and read through that thread (I know I do that sometimes when looking for opinions on a game I just played).

Bayonetta 2 was a big release and yet I don't see a thead for it :/
You do make a good point, I must admit.

I have made threads for games in the past. I should have done it for Bayonetta 2, as I absolutely love it. Probably my favourite game I've played this year so far.
It is a good point.

See, things like that can be construed as being rather condescending.
Perhaps, but it's not the intent. Like ds said, there's a higher percentage of perceived negativity in this thread because it's based upon the reflective reality of what is going on with the hardware in general and it's got a similar flavor of it in the Vita thread too since it's a struggling good system too, and then the One as well. I bought it, loved it, learned to only like it at this rate and do not like the struggle since I went in day one at full price. I don't hate it, I hate the situation and reality of it which is unfortunate. I felt the same with the Vita but even more as it had nothing I wanted so I got rid of it, sadly that hasn't changed 2 years later as I'd like to reinvest.

I'm more of the agreement here that this is a thread about the system and that it's a wise idea to make game specific threads where they can be freely discussed without all the console specific baggage.

And on that about the WiiU, got on the phone with brother and asked again about it, and what I said before was correct in my memory of the opportunity that was given and lost. Also more disturbing because I said I was considering maybe selling it, that in 2015 the known library of physical media games right now is about 75-80% of what is likely to show up from the first/second parties so it looks annoyingly like it will be another fairly dry year. :(

I'm an optimist and a positive gamer. That will make my wife laugh out loud, because as a person, I'm actually pretty negative and pessimistic. But I guess you and I are just two polar opposites, because I love my Vita and Wii U. I'm not saying they don't have problems or "lack of games", but basically, they both have enough games that I really enjoy, that I am yet to be too concerned about what you speak of.

I follow you. I'm just a realist with things, and depending if someone agrees with me or not I guess it's seen as a positive or a negative so I just see it as it is and roll with it.

Now I was very happy with both those systems, the hardware was/is awesome and the games I did/do have for them I did in fact enjoy. My only issue on both was that the stuff I wanted to play dried up. In the case of the Vita, Sony never gave it a real chance and played the angle of that developers would just flock to it because the Sony name is strong which backfired. On top of that they've not made really much of a push to advertise the thing nor put out a steady set of games on their own either, but there is a good trickle. If I were into third person adventure(AC3 type) or FPS games more I'd have had a lot of options. I ended up having 5 games for the thing, then got rid of it when Gravity Rush popped up as nothing else caught my eye for the next year out and since that time I think I would have upped my library to like 8 games. The WiiU though, not really wanting to go down that road again, we know what happened there with Nintendo, third parties, and the hardware choices so we'll just see where that one goes in the next year I suppose. I personally though for what's there ran out of stuff to do and only see 2 sure buys, 1 strong maybe, 1 unlikely maybe for 2015 and 1 for this year (Toad.)

You remind me, how is this game selling? Did it push any more Wii U's?

I know its too early but usually the first week is a good sign of whats to come in the future.
I also have a feeling that it will be put on XOne and PS4 in the next couple of years like No More Heroes.

Sorry, but not a chance. The game was both funded and published by Nintendo, so they have the final say on that.

Also, the PS3 port of No More Heroes is pretty bad

Whoa there, cowboy. I'd think of myself as a realist too, I just have a different opinion and place less importance on the issues you identify than you do. I'm not a teenager anymore who pumps hours and hours of my life into gaming. I work, I'm married, I have a mortgage and responsibilities. I just play games to escape from the every day bullshit and as years have gone by, I've found myself caring less and less about the politics of the games industry. It works like this for me: Are there games I want to play on the system? Yes? Then cool, that works for me. I don't need lots and lots of games, a powerhouse in hardware or lots of third party support or whatever. Just enough good, fun games for me to play in the evenings and weekend.

It is but it's also the "only" way for us to enjoy blood instead of black pixels
