Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?

I am tired of hearing about Destiny. Tired of reading about it on forums, tired of seeing it in video game news blogs. I've read reviews and watched videos and the game just looks boring as hell to me. I honestly do not understand the appeal. A dude at my job told me he had over 250 hours logged into this game! I don't understand it. If I had an XONE right now I'd be playing Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments or Sunset Overdrive or even Lords of the Fallen... but not Destiny.

So if it's unpopular to say Destiny looks like soulless joyless marketing ploy Halo-clone shlock I'm saying it.

For a game that released nearly two months ago it is quite strange to see it constantly get articles on various websites. Heck, kotaku has at least one destiny article every day or two. And it is even more perplexing considering multiple games have released that haven't gotten a drop of the attention that destiny has received. Sunset overdrive, sherlock, Lords of fallen (like you mentioned)... bayonetta 2, fantasy life, evil within, alien, forza horizon 2, etc etc.

A more "direct" sequel to a Zelda game has always intrigued me as they are rare, and I'm not buying this whole timeline bullshit. Just say almost every game is it's own thing, quit jerking us around and appeasing the fans that demand continuity, when its obvious (most of the time) it doesn't exist.

Heh, yeah, besides the ones that really obvious in-game (Wind Waker directly references OOT a lot, for example) the 'official' time line makes it pretty clear that it's a bunch of asspull that they made up as they went along. Continuity has never been a major concern for the developers, obviously, so it really is a wonder they just don't plain say it's just a Final Fantasy esque reboot every couple of games or something?

Might give them an excuse to make a Zelda that isn't just ALTTP/OOT redux #18*

*though, for what it's worth, I'll happily play more ALTTP/OOT reduxes

I do like how they seem to be finally freshening things up with the Wii U game, though I wish they actually would do something ballsy like make link a girl this time. I'm just hungry for these established franchises to take some really bold steps.

I have Destiny, is it worth $60? I really don't know, I honestly can't answer that. I've only put enough hours on it to unlock Mars but have not gone there since it looks like I'm grossly underleveled. I like how it handles, I like the terrain and some of the gear, but there are issues. You have no easy way to setup a team, no chat to do so which is really damning to me so you're stuck in this MMO like environment as a deaf mute and left hung out to dry unless you bump into people who just phase out as you enter other areas. I think it has a lot going on in the single player and co-op non-1on1/team on team stuff, but I'm so unmotivated I'll play it like once every week or two or more, but then I really dig it the 2-3 hours I put in. I'm not fed up hearing about it, but I don't pay attention much if it's being internet bombed too much. I think it's a game that lacks the tools to be a true A game title and only because of some selfish design choices. Don't make an online world and not let people converse to setup a team (game needs, demands a lobby.)

Also unpopular it appears on here, my being a realist about the WiiU, I'm pissing a few people off on the stuff I know about it and why it's failing because no one wants to come to face the reality I have that Nintendo doesn't give a shit about listening to game developers because if they had they wouldn't be in the rotten place they are now.

I'm honestly considering selling the thing which is stunning for me doing that, but I don't know what to play anymore other than all my save games they did not have to erase when they repaired my system over a month ago.

We haven't actually seen gameplay footage yet. I am afraid it's going to end up just one of the same like Skyward Sword.

And yeah female Link (Linka?) would be basass.

True, we haven't, but the ideas seem sound. I'm not writing it off immediately like I did after Miyamoto's E3 2010 live demo for SS. Lol

I'm really interested to see where ZeldaU goes. Girl Link would be cool. I'd also like to see them pull more stuff from TP, like the Twilight Realm or Wolf Link again. (There's an unpopular opinion for ya'.)

That new Zelda honestly has me worried. I know it's all cool to really play up the western style gaming these days in the US market and one of them is the open world roaming huge RPG like the Skyrim/Morrowind type stuff but I really do not enjoy stuff like that. It's far too large, too open, and takes so damned long it's just basically a game for a year situation there. If they really are going to remove the base linearity the series has had, and I mean taking even farther off the rails than the 3DS title did into a massively huge world that's that freaking open, I'm done with the franchise as I'd never get my value out of it. If they're just talking of a very much more open hyrule overworld, but it still guides you to set spots, that's fine, and if they for some odd reason to woman Link whatever that's nice I guess too.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game is better in all respects than Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

I've had that on my list for a while now (Ghostbusters, not Uncharted.) I was kind of underwhelmed by Drake's Fortune. Not sure yet if it was the game, my expectations, or that I'm not that familiar with third-person shooters.

What's even more weird, is most of those sites actually reviewed the game and didn't exactly award it amazing scores.

Bayonetta 2, on the other hand... The praise is phenomenal, but it's a niche game on a "dying" ( ) console, so = limited coverage.
