You can only hit 30 with fully leveled up raid gear, right?

For auto rifle are you talking about Atheon’s Epilogue? That gun is sex-ay.
Yeah, only way to hit 30 is 4 pieces of fully leveled up raid gear (or 3 raid + 1 exotic)..

Yeah I was meaning Atheon's Epilogue. I have the Vex Mythoclast, which I quite like, so not sure how often I would use the Epilogue, but its nice to have options.

From the Bungie forums it seems like a lot of people were pissed off with the last patch. I know I was: the game didn't work properly after it downloaded.

Some details have released about the next add-on pack and I have to say I'm pretty underwhelmed. Three story missions, a strike and a raid I'll never see for £20 and even then the stuff itself might already be on disc? And I guess I'll pay an equal amount as Playstation owners but get less because of Activision's deal with Sony as well? No thanks.

I've been holding out thinking that Bungie could inject some life into what was becoming an increasingly stale game but it seems they just spend more time correcting small mistakes (usually the result of a previous fix) and annoying parts of the fanbase.

The more I play the more I think the game is sort of fundamentally broken or half-baked it's kind of fascinating in a baffling way.

- Why are fireteams limited to three people when there are A) six classes and B) groups of four vehicles laying about?
- Why is the raid limited to six, why not eight so if a few drop out it's not such a problem (like every other MMO I can think of)?
- Why is there no trade system?
- Why are there so few customisation options?
- On that, why does the shader vendor never have new stock and why do the Vanguards not sell customisation pieces outside of emblems?
- Why do you have to work your ass off with an exotic bounty for a weapon you can get either randomly in PvP or buy off Xur?
- Why does glimmer cap out at 25000 when it has so few uses in the end-game?
- Why isn't there a third heavy weapon option (I can think of three off the top of my head: grenade launcher, rail gun, flamethrower)?
- Why can I jump as high as the broken overpass in the Cosmodrome but can't actually land on it?
- I keep finding dead ghosts but what in-game affect do they have? Why bother finding them then?
- Why isn't there a map yet and why can't I choose where I want to land on patrols?

I have enjoyed and still do enjoy the actual shooting part of the game and I still enjoy a good strike on nightmare. But I feel these aren't minor nitpicks. I've heard people say "well, all MMO's start off pretty barebones" which I would conceded if this wasn't supposedly the most expensive game ever from a publisher with more than enough experience in the MMO field.

For me, Destiny is just a very sterile game at the moment and I fear that Bungie will never be able to properly fix it unless they do a Realm Reborn style reboot. As it stands it feels like a free-to-play game but with the microtransactions removed.

I totally agree with this, it should be 4 for the lesser stuff. Most multiplayer games like this are 4.

- Why is the raid limited to six, why not eight so if a few drop out it's not such a problem (like every other MMO I can think of)?
I have trouble getting to six with my friends, I'd rather they implement matchmaking for the raid, but this would be nice too.

- Why is there no trade system?
This is to avoid RMT (real money transactions) that mean money in someone other than Bungie/Activision's pockets.

- Why are there so few customisation options?
This is at the middle ground IMO, I'd like to see more, but it's not game breaking and there is more there than some games like this.

- On that, why does the shader vendor never have new stock and why do the Vanguards not sell customisation pieces outside of emblems?
They need to add the ability to see what a shader would look like at the vendor and add more.

- Why do you have to work your ass off with an exotic bounty for a weapon you can get either randomly in PvP or buy off Xur?
Good question.

- Why does glimmer cap out at 25000 when it has so few uses in the end-game?
Got me.

- Why isn't there a third heavy weapon option (I can think of three off the top of my head: grenade launcher, rail gun, flamethrower)?
Yep.

- Why can I jump as high as the broken overpass in the Cosmodrome but can't actually land on it?
There are many, many, many invisible walls or places where you can get to easily that are considered out of bounds, I find this to be very lame.

- I keep finding dead ghosts but what in-game affect do they have? Why bother finding them then?
These add to the grimoire (which should be available in-game, but isn't). They usually have an interesting story attached to them, but if you don't go to the app or Bungie.net you'll never see it.

- Why isn't there a map yet and why can't I choose where I want to land on patrols?
Want this so bad.

I am glad there is no trading, I like that when I see someone with Raid gear, I know they have "worked for it" rather than just traded it off. As they are the only items (other than exotics) that allow level 30 light, everyone would just be wearing the same armor.

If they were to add trading, they would need to increase the amount of gear twenty fold.

I could see them doing something like "soul bound" was in WoW. Not sure if they still have that concept in WoW, but Blizzard could make an item not tradeable by making it soul bound.

Most MMO's I've played put a limit on what exactly can be traded. I was mostly talking about trading stuff like shards and energy as well as consumables and stuff. Not raid gear or anything.

Gear in general controls your level from 20-30, so being able to "buy" levels would suck.

Shards are an issue, players who do the Raid regularly, have massive overflow of shards (I have 50+ spare of shards and like 75+energy, so the value would be low.

I know what your saying and a trade system could be good, however, like I said the number of items in game would need to increase massively before they could consider this.

Was playing Rumble last night trying to get through this tier on this Exotic Weapon Bounty for Thorn (hand cannon) and what should drop during it? The Last Word which is an exotic hand cannon. So ... should I just drop this bounty? It's been a giant pain so far.

I keep trudging through the exotic bounties, just so I have something to aim for in Crucible.
