We need more steampunk.
No, we need more diesel and atomicpunk. We need more genre fusion games. I want a Tolkien wannabe WWII FPS where I have to ride a spaceship to the bombed out ruins of the moon to fight atomic moon zombies with SNES-esque graphics. And the whole thing really needs to be a secret parable about the reunification of a post-Gamersgate Germany.

Every time I see an article online, I see someone asking for something in this vein. Not with the same games necessarily, but the same I want this with this and this. And then they complain when games feel the same...

Though I don't think we can complain about the settings in games at this point. We've been getting the same ones since... ever?
