I'm mainly worried about a fire or electrical incident breaking out.
The odds of an electrical fire with 8.5 watts of potential power is beyond low. The biggest worry would be shorting out the connection from the Power supply, this won't happen as one pin has to be inside and one outside this just simply won't allow for the two pins to touch when live. I wouldn't worry about it at all now if you had a toaster, hair dryer or anything else with higher resistance heating with high wattage i'd be worried. This power supply had about the same potential as some really good 9 volt batteries so i'd say you're 100% safe.
OK, I'll stop worrying. I got it back in summer '13 and I think it actually came like that, I just never noticed until now. It's worked fine, never gone out on me. I was just concerned.
In that case, I'm gonna take it back out of the storage I put it in.
