why oh why is the nes and snes so expensive??????

Post by vgaddict »

I just got 20 nes games or so good titles too so I went to my find a nes not no clone crap if i want to play nes games or snes i want the real deal, but I noticed that the system is 50 bucks!!!!!!!! Everywhere I look its about the same price I had the system so many times before in early 2000 It only cost me 20 bucks. Then I look around snes 50 bucks. Then the games like Zelda or Mario 3 10-20 bucks a piece!!!!!! For that price I could get a xbox game actually 5 xbox games. Anybody out there tell my what or why are these old consoles so damn expensive I want to relive my childhood and don't tell I could play the roms on my pc been there done that its not the same as holding a nes controller or blowing into the game to get it to work

Demand is high. That's why you see all of the cheaper "clone" machines because there are plenty of people like you that want to play those old games.

Your best bet is to go around and check out garage sales. I remember someone giving me four NES boxes, cables for one, a controller, and a full RISK board game for $2 a long time ago. They're back in Georgia, though and I'm in Oklahoma now. Otherwise I would have fixed them, cleaned them, and sold them long ago. =/

because demand is high. nostalgia fever is in full swing and people know they can charge out the nose for one.
it's stupid I know. but there are millions and millions of NES and SNES systems out there, I'm sure you will get lucky with one. you could always go with homebrew, play the old games without the fuzzy picture and sound.

No matter what your buying there's always going to be people selling them for more then there worth. Best bet is just check out local junk stores every once in awhile to find bargains. I just got Zombies Ate My Neighbors for 3$ today. Just keep on the lookout and I'm sure you could find some good deals. Also, don't be afraid to haggle with people

It's all of our fault for hyping up old games and getting the younger generations curious. What fools we are.

I say no, good sir. You only get RF out instead of AV out. And it looks fugly. The NES cart was not aesthetically designed to be toploaded. If it was it would look like the SNES cart. There's only about an inch of PCB in the cart anyway; the rest is air.

You want pure win? You gotta pay for it, my friend. The best don't come cheap. Seriously though, they are going up in price. I have noticed this over the last two or three years.

^___^ everytime i hear that from people not living in Australia it makes me laugh Buddy id gladly pay 50 bucks for a snes and 10-20 for zelda games

down here your looking at 80 for the snes and 80 for zelda OoT and MM, a link to the past on the other hand can reach about 100

and honestly five xbox games for that much!? here a good deal is 40 dollars for a used copy of one

so the point of this comment....pay the damn prices it's ALOT cheaper trust me
