Checked out the back of my SNES and saw some crack in the port where the ac adapter goes. Should I get a replacement system? I've owned this SNES for a year.

I really just post questions most of the time. I'm that kind of person, but who cares...

If it's still working, I wouldn't be too concerned. I know some people have just swapped out the power jacks with "normal" ones because it's easier to find replacement Genesis bricks than SNES bricks. Getting a whole new console seems like serious overkill to me.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!

It works, but I'm very nervous. I think I might get a replacement.
I'm not keeping both though. I'll either trade in a local store or sell mine on ebay or something and get a new one.

It's a relatively common thing to have break, but as long as the AC pin makes good contact you're fine.
Also, Hyperkin makes a replica part you could opt to swap in.

My oldest SNES has that entire center plastic pin missing. It's been like that for YEARS and it's always worked fine.

I'm mainly worried about a fire or electrical incident breaking out.

Without that center plastic pin, the plug still makes good contact on mine. Still, I hear ya. You can get a replacement panel like the one isiolia linked...

... Or you could install a more standard power input like this: http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/power-adapter ... ican-snes/
mmmonkey put it where the RF use to be, but you could always drill out the stock power input and put it there. 2.1 x 5.5mm is a pretty standard size (that's what the Genesis 1 uses).
If you're not good with doing that sort of thing, then maybe you have a buddy that can help? Otherwise, if you're really not comfortable with it, then sell/trade it for another console.
But if it's making a good connection, I really wouldn't be worried about it. Like I said, that center plastic pin on my oldest SNES is completely missing, and it's been like that as long as I can remember. It's caused 0 fires.

Same here. My SNES power connection is in the same state, but hasn't caught fire even after all these years.

The odds of an electrical fire with 8.5 watts of potential power is beyond low. The biggest worry would be shorting out the connection from the Power supply, this won't happen as one pin has to be inside and one outside this just simply won't allow for the two pins to touch when live. I wouldn't worry about it at all now if you had a toaster, hair dryer or anything else with higher resistance heating with high wattage i'd be worried. This power supply had about the same potential as some really good 9 volt batteries so i'd say you're 100% safe.
