Actually, they've priced Treasure Tracker at $40. So that's another day-one purchase. Man, I'm on fire lately.

I don't work. I like to spend no more than $20 for a game.

Really there are so many games under $20 that there is no reason to pay more unless it is something you have to have right when it comes out.

Agree with everything said. It actually makes sense to wait on most releases.

Some games you just know will be reduced or hit the bargain bins within a matter of weeks. I do get that from a financial and common sense perspective, it makes sense to wait for the inevitable price reductions.

That said, for "high quality" titles (particularly Nintendo titles, since this is the Wii U thread) that will either retain their value for an extended period of time or are just simply too damn awesome to wait for, I have to pre-order them and get them on release day.

Well last I checked usually most Nintendo first party titles don't get a price drop until near the end of the console's life cycle...or at least not until 2 or so years after release it seems....

Last I checked it's not nearing that, in fact some people in nintendo think it's the second best console this generation(second to ps4 of course). I don't think nintendo is willing to give up the fight just yet on the wii u so :P (though I feel ashamed i haven't bought more games for it yet though I have been trying to get some of their older games on my other nintendo systems  )

^ Far as I know, at this point, the Wii U has slipped to third place in terms of units sold, despite a year lead on the market (and some solid releases this year).

I think there are a certain subset of Nintendo IPs that don't get a lot of price drops until/unless there's a greatest hits line. Your Marios, Zeldas, Mario Karts, Smashes, that kind of thing.

Lesser known properties, much less externally developed games that they served as publisher on, do tend to drop.
