That's what I do, since a majority of the scores I post are on consoles. Plus I do it w/mame, because I'm too much of a doofus to figure out how to take in-game screenshots and post them.Fragems wrote:Would camera pics be acceptable as well? yeah Dave, couldn't you just snap a pic w/ your phone?
Re: RB STGT Tournament - November 2014 - Still time to join!
That's slightly less annoying, but it is still a hassle that I don't think is necessary unless there's reason to suspect forgery. To me, it takes the "friendly" out of the competition.Fragems wrote:Would camera pics be acceptable as well? That could be an easy solution for those with setups that aren't screenshot friendly.

I prefer the honor system myself.
I tend to get much better scores that way.

I'm fine either way, but I think unless your score is vying for one of the top on the bracket for the week, I'm not really too concerned about screenshots.
We're all fairly familiar with each other, so I highly doubt there would be any fraudulence.

If there weren't prizes at stake, I could see your point. Phone pics for me. Verify by email, or upload only?

prizes are fine, but I think it is worth noting that almost everyone signed up thus far got on board before Mike even mentioned that. We were doing so for fun.
EDIT: well now I see they are mentioned in the OP too, so I don't know if that was always there. In any case, a screenshot requirement seems stupid to me, so I'm out if that's in.

Considering that there have been very few documented cases of score fraud within our competitions, and screenshots disenfranchise a portion of the population larger than the number of attempts we have had at score fraud, I think it is morally imperative we should not require screenshots. After all, even if the ability to take screenshots does make it easier to traverse in society, it is not necessarily mandatory and just means more paperwork and that things can be more difficult to access. There are large portions of the population who do not have the time nor the ability to take screenshots, more so than have attempted to commit score fraud.
I also think requiring screenshots discriminates against those who are too poor to be able to afford a dedicated button for it, particularly among minorities.
