What was the last movie you've seen?

Just got back from Fury. It feeded my insatiable need for WWII action, tanks, and just how good those early games in the Call of Duty and Medal of Honor series really were

Liked the movie, hated the cgi. They obviously had tanks, why not use them all the time?

Oh dear, the trailers didn't make it look too heavy on the cgi. That's disconcerting if it is overdone. I was interested in seeing Fury, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to pay theater prices.

It's a fine piece of film and I was picking nits. FURY is very much a "War is Hell" movie, and the brutality sucks you in...and then a cgi tank shoves you back into reality every now and then.

I'm not one to use the word "irk", but the use of cgi in this movie irks me. Not needed. It's not like they were filming Star Wars and as I stated, they already had tanks.

But if you like a good war bromance, go see it.

Joking aside, the little cgi that is in the film made a great movie good.

But hey, tanks, real or not, rule. Imagine being the first guy on a battlefield to see a tank. That would definitely be a "Oh Shit. We're screwed" moment.

But yeah, giant armored tread vehicle lumbering toward you has to be demoralizing. Kinda like how the Crocodile and Wasp were in WW2

Very cool thing they did to include an authentic tank, in this case the Tiger 131 from The Tank Museum in England. This was an earlier model Tiger I not used in 1945, but on the outside it looks like the later version used in the time period.

Yup. It reminded me very much of the first Call of Duty game on the Gamecube, where not only you actually got to use those very same tanks, but you were also taking on the infantry role escorting them to positions by walking right behind them as they did in the movie. Watching this brought me to those sequences in the game, and perhaps that's why I enjoyed it much more than I was expecting to, not because I'm big into the tanks and planes of WWII either (and yes we even had a brief glimpse of some P-51s!)

Few things can top the awesome of using the recoil from a tank cannon to adjust your trajectory as you fall through the air.
