This seems like something that will go under most people's radar. I have not watched the show, but I recently watched the whole series of Avatar: The Last Airbender and loved it. Plus, I'm a beat 'em up junkie (currently having a blast with Hyrule Warriors and Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor) and generally like anything dealing with Eastern themes or action (which are heavy in Avatar and presumably Korra as well). So this is now on my radar and frankly, has much more of my genuine interest than Bayonetta 2 just because this is something more original while Bayonetta will just be more of the same from the first game. It comes out in a few days.

Looks rather fun, especially for a licensed game.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: The Legend of Korra (Platinum Games)
Looks like a mod for Metal Gear Rising
I'd like to be optimistic about it, since the show is really good...but it seems kind of sparse to me, especially given that the series could support a sprawling RPG a la Jade Empire (Korra is more age of steam/industrial revolution, but still).

Re: The Legend of Korra (Platinum Games)
Guess the almighty Platinum Games isn't so great after all. This game is shit. Korra hits like a 2 year old child, while every hit she takes from an enemy hits her like a mach truck. The counter system is crap because enemies don't telegraph their attacks, plus their attack patterns are random. Bending doesn't actually FEEL like bending. I can toss a bunch of water blasts at an enemy and it doesn't even phase them. The camera doesn't follow the action. The targeting system is hit and miss.
The Naga sections are...well, the less said about them the better. Let's just say I kind of want to kill that mutt. And pro bending feels like something out of the NES era it's so simplistic and boring.
This is your typical, crap licensed game. Very surprising. The reviews back me up

Apparently, even Platinum Games isn't above a quick cash in.

Definitely not all it could be, but there seem to be a number of people enjoying it too.
Could wind up being God Hand lite.
Part of the issue with attack power is that the charge system isn't just for the one subsequent attack. While your Chi is charged up, all of that element's attacks are more powerful. So, you need to find a rhythm between dodging/parrying that lets you keep recharging Chi for better damage.

An unfortunate letdown. I had hoped Platinum would take the license seriously but it looks like they went the route of quick cash-in.
I guess they didn't have the budget or incentive to do better since even Nick doesn't believe in this franchise anymore, turning it into a webseries.

Re: The Legend of Korra (Platinum Games)
I don't how anyone could expect this game to be great. They announced it in JUNE of this year.
Im pretty sure EA didn't give the budget or the time to make a game in the scale of metal gear rising or bayonetta, it's a low budget game so i would sugest to keep expectations low, even if it is platinum.

Re: The Legend of Korra (Platinum Games)
To be honest though, looking at the video again of the game it does look they had the abilities leveled up or something...ah well maybe they won't put it above $30....if they're gonna budget make it might as well budget price it right?

You do have to unlock elements and expand moves/combos a little. Basically, first playthrough to unlock stuff and get used to the combat, then use that to play again on harder difficulty.
