Only if you follow it with Cannibal Ferox.
Oh lordie, just overdose on gore for the next year all at once, eh?

Well aware. It's certainly not something I'm a huge fan of, but not watching it doesn't un-kill them. Like I said, it's just a small part of me calling out for it, just morbid curiosity. I doubt I actually will, as I'm not a huge horror/gore fan, but you never know.
Cannibal Holocaust has a great soundtrack, and it should be on the list of horror fans' movies to have seen at least once, even if you're uncomfortable with Deodato's use of real animal violence.

I just can't do it. That and Ferox I've avoided because I'm just not cool w/ the animal stuff.

I can understand that, but it's a pretty landmark piece of cinema you're missing out on. Just close your eyes when that nastiness happens.
Saw Fury this past weekend. I was pleasantly surprised. I felt the casting was pretty spot on, even with Shia LaBeouf being the religious/moral character. It had a couple laughs and was pretty graphic. Definitely didn't pull any punches.

This makes me wonder, are the people who avoid Cannibal Holocaust for the gore ok with Apocalypse Now and its water buffalo slaughter?

AFAIK, the extras actually ate the buffalo afterward in AN. The stuff in CH is just killing for the sake of.

Yeah, the killing in AN wasn't planned. Apparently the locals were doing it for a feast, and Francis Ford Coppola just started filming.

I have seen Cannibal Holocaust, and I can assutre you that you really aren't missing anything...Despite the gore, I found the movie incredibly dull.

I'll be honest; I didn't realize it was Shia LaBeouf until the credits.
