Did you get a flu shot?

You guys/gals get a flu shot every year? Never? Are you hardcore and lick your hands after touching every doorknob you come into contact with?

I used to never really pay it much mind, but currently my daughter has a suppressed immune system due to a bone marrow transplant, so I have to get a flu shot or I put her at serious risk.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

This is part of why others should get flu shots too. It's not just about keeping yourself from getting sick, it's about keeping yourself from being a carrier that gets other vulnerable people sick like Stark's daughter. I don't want to get preachy, but I think this is something that many don't consider when deciding whether they should get the shot or not.

We get them free working in healthcare and still 19-22% ever year elect to not receive it. Jenny McCarthy's reach knows no bounds.

I do get a flu shot now. Never did before, because of insurance reasons. Now, with a baby on the way, I think it is the smart and responsible thing to do!

I have always wondered if flu shots affected the ability of influenza to drift and shift.

Yes. I have a one-year-old.

When I worked in the public schools I was guaranteed to get the flu if I didn't get the shot.

No, I don't, but it has nothing to do with Jenny McCarthy or that batshit craziness.

I don't get one because I generally don't get very sick or ever catch the flu anyway. It would be solving a problem that I just don't usually have. Beyond that I know many people who DO get at least a day or two of "feeling run down" or feeling sickly sometime after getting their annual shot, and I don't really need that. I figure that I could either A) stick something into me that might make me feel sick for a few days or B) continue to live my charmed life of really never getting the flu throughout the season. At this point, I've chosen B.

If I find that, as I get older, I start to get the flu with some regularity then I will probably reconsider. For now, I'm off the belief that years of working with gross college kids has given me a pretty good immunity.

I haven't had flu in about four years at least. I never get the shots. My immune system when I was younger sucked, I would always get sick. These days I almost never get sick and when I do it's usually just an insignificant cold that goes away after a few days.

Two of my coworkers that I'm stuck hanging around in a tiny side station every day for several hours were severely sick and were just getting over it after a week and half. Still not sick myself though.

Drink that orange juice, take your vitamins, and wash your hands.
