Need help wiring Virtua Fighter 3 (SEGA Model 3)

Firstly, hi. I was directed to racketboy by a friend who said you guys would be a good source of information regarding arcade hardware - and, well, information on this particular board is really sparse.

The board in question is Virtua Fighter 3, and the problem I'm facing is twofold:
-how the hell do I wire this damn thing
-how do I know if I need to use a transformer for the power supply

Here are some pics to help you understand what I've got, and what I'm working with.



This is my VF3 board. Some of the wiring is hooked up, I think correctly. If you notice any glaring mistakes, let me know! I am not sure how to wire the sound, but I'm pretty sure the 4-pronged outlet above the white and yellow harness on the right side goes to the sound stuff (which is to the left of the power supply in the pic)



There are many of these things in the jumbled mess of wiring and harnesses. What are they? I don't recognize them or understand what they are for.



There's two females for this male. Lucky male, I guess, but which one is the right one?



Could not find a home for these.

So that should give you an idea of how far I've gotten with wiring, just by matching up pins and harnesses and connecting things when the colors matched.

With regard to the transformer, well, the guy who sent me this board included a transformer which seems to have a spot on the board with the power supply and the amp. Thing is really heavy, too. But I'm not sure if he was actually using it, and haven't been able to reach him.

I'm petrified of using it when I'm not supposed to, or vice versa, and the thing going up in flames. Is there a way of knowing if I'm supposed to use the transformer without having to plug the thing in?

I don't have a lot of experience with arcades. Some years back I was trying to hook up a few boards, and I came across a site that had a TON of compiled info on arcades. I forget the name of the site, but maybe some one else would know. They had a ton of manuals for download. They were original service manuals that were scanned in and made into a PDF. The ones I got showed pretty detailed wire diagrams. So, if you can find a manual for your board, that might answer everything for you. If you can't find a PDF online, search for a hard copy on eBay.

They're probably for ground.

KLOV (Killer List of Video Games/Arcade Museum) is the go to for most arcade related questions. It does require a donation to get on the forums, but the $2 you spend for it will help you with the headaches, and it is a good cause.

I have no experience with Model 3 cabs, but I know some about older Sega cabs. So I can answer a few of these for you:
Second picture:
The Green cable with the red circle connector is a ground, there will be like 15 of these.

Last picture:
Those are most likely the control panel connectors. They usually got to a patchpanel like device in the control panel so you can connect your controls. This way if you swap games, you can swap control panels without having to do a completely rewire.
