Conker's Bad Fur Day N64/Xbox Differences

Post by RemyC »

What are the differences between Conkers Bad Fur Day on the Xbox, and N64?

Two that I'm aware of are:
-The poop song was cut in the xbox version
-The xbox version is missing the N64's Multiplayer mode

I believe the poop song was censored, not cut. Stronger censoring was present throughout the game. Also, I think they may have taken out a couple sections deemed too difficult for players. I don't really know. I never played the Xbox version. My friends and I played the multiplayer much more than we ever did the single player, so we were really pissed to see it taken out.

I didn't play either much, but I know of two differences.

1. You get a bat to fight enemies with, and there are more enemies scattered through out the levels to fight.
2. The beginning bit with the gargoyle is slightly altered. You normally hit him, then he falls and dies. The first time you hit him, he doesn't fall, then you have to go and find the new weapon and use that on him. They actually comment on this in the game itself.

Conker: Hey, weren't you supposed to fall?
Gargoyle: Well, the developers decided to change the beginning to fool the player into thinking that the rest of the game was changed. Sorry, you'll have to find something else.

Or something like that. Also I think Conker had a Van Hellsing inspired outfit for the vampire stage in the Xbox version that he didn't in the N64. And I think Conker makes some other reference to the Xbox version being a remake as well, but I don't remember what exactly was said/done.
I wanted to be a Teminator but they require you have an armored hyperalloy skeleton and mine's mostly recycled truck tires.

So nothing was really taken out or removed in its entirety. Mostly cosmetic, and dialogue changes?
...With an exception being the N64's Multiplayer mode.

ALL the swearing was censored in the xbox version.

Doesn't make it any less playable. It's easily one of the best games for the xbox.

You're really better of playing the N64 version. It's generally considered better from every forum I've been to, but it's up to you

I just saw a couple on ebay in the forty to fifty range(some complete). Quite reasonable for such a great game in my opinion. Another game whose high price is highly exaggerated(like Castlevania:Symphony of the Night).

Personally, I think the 360 version just feels off. A good example of a bad remake. The graphics look TOO good. Losing that cartoony quality the game had. Even the speech bubbles look all wrong(less comic booky). Plus, the game just seems to have less personality.
