Thus the D, After you're sure you have the right replacement, yes you could scraps off some varnish so you can get to the trace next to it to solder, else you can follow the trace (those circles generally go through to the other side) and then solder a jumper sire to the bare spot at the other end where the next component is.
As someone who is completely unfamiliar with diodes and the board layout, which exact traces should I be following for those diodes? Again, forgive me for my lack of knowledge of circuitry.
