What is this thing on a oXBOX? Or other mods!

Today at the fleamarket I saw this on an XBOX



I've seen similar stuff like this before over the years. One some okay looking oXBOXes and some pretty nasty broken ones. Sometimes right there under the controller ports like in the picture and sometimes some wires sticking out on the side.

I finally got around to having a smartphone and the opportunity to take a picture of it.

I really dont know anything about Xbox modding. But what are these loose wires for? Are they hacked systems or are they DEV debug consoles?

So far I've seen nothing to say otherwise. The stickers on the bottom look like normal consoles.

I've made a similar thread like this a long ass time ago. But quickly died because it had no pictures. But this time I got one. And I'll be posting more in the future if I find more like this.

I didn't buy it. The seller offered me $15 for it as is. If you guys know what it is, I may just go back for it tomorrow.

Lastly is it a mod chip? Why would it be hanging outside of the console like that?

I want to know!

Not sure what it is, but at fifteen bucks you should buy it. Definitely a Mod, perhaps also for external hard drive?

Yeah CRT. I'm south of you. In Imperial County. I'm on the border with Mexico. Well, I actually live in Mexicali. But I cross the border practically every day to get to work.

I dont think the xbox is going to be there. On the weekend the fleamarket gets kinda busy. I may go to the US on sunday. If its there, I'll go pick it up.

Good luck on it, no worries I won't buy it if I see it. I already own three original Xbox consoles. That external Mod is curious though.

10 wires...could be a third generation chip. Although I don't remember ever seeing a chip that looked like that. The wires are feeding into the right place though.
