I forgot how much Odin Sphere causes my urge to kill to rise. I don't think I've ever played a game that can so consistently cause me to shout in anger but I keep coming back to. I think it's because I always have this feeling that "if I just did THAT differently" or "if the boss didn't choose that exact moment to do that" I would triumph.

Haha! I got about 75% through this game and had to move one and play something much less frustrating. Constantly having to go to your menu for item and spell usage is annoying too, the battle feels awkward because of it. Looks great though....

I'm rocking FF V on the GBA. It's great. I love the job and ability leveling up system and the story is decent so far. Too bad this didn't make it on the SNES originally, would have been a great addition. The only negative side is that I haven't played an RPG with random battles for quite a while and it's a bit annoying. Oh well....it wouldn't be FF without the grind-fest.

Call me crazy, but a part of me actually enjoys grinding to a point. It's kind of meditative for me in a way, and it's always fun to see the character stats increase.

Of course, it can get ridiculous.

I've been playing my reproduction of Langrisser II with the english translation. The game is everything I hoped for. Another feature that is much appreciated is that you can save at any point during the course of a battle which every Strategy/RPG game should have.

Lost a battle a couple times now so I put it down think I'll pick it back up today and see if I can't win.

Finaly Fantasy has always been a bit better than say..Vay...or Lufia. But i find they always attack you more when you're in a hurry to save the game and leave. Or coarse I got attacked by a Behemoth, I'm trying to make it to the 7:30 show!!!! But yeah...it's kinda fun when you have a goal. AP points, abilities, spells, but after that I get a little bored.

I'm working my way through Kingdom Hearts 2 for the first time as well as playing Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood on the DS. What's really interesting about the Sonic RPG is that I've been reading the back issues of the comic books on the side and I can see where details fit into the overall Sonic universe, as long as they stay with the original canon. However, the details about Angel Island, the use of Mobius, and the presence of certain characters in the videogames/comics are a separate discussion entirely.

I've started alternating my Odin Sphere play sessions with Golden Axe Warrior, which is frustrating, but in a different way. And it's kinda hilarious just how blatently they ripped off Zelda.

[edit]

Haha! Beat Odin Sphere! Turns out that Belial + Beldor in Velvet's chapter was the last "unfair" boss fight. All the rest just require a little preparation. A few painkillers/unlimited pow and some healing items. And not even a large number of healing items. Two pralines each was good enough for everyone but Velvet (who needs more since her damage is so low).

I just finished Grandia II, what a great RPG! I will be buying many games from GameArts from here on.

I just started Odin Sphere after not playing for a year. I just started over. It seems as though many others are playing it and are frustrated, so I guess Ill be with yall soon enough!

I also have Phantasy Star for the SMS going right now, but I have no idea where to go in that game without a walkthrough!

I beat Persona 4. I really enjoyed it, but the third was better. I wish the first two were not super expensive. Right now I'm about 15 hours into Suduken III. The story is good and I like playing it through the other characters persepctives.
