PS3 YLOD Question
PS3 YLOD Question
My PS3 died in the middle of a play session. I believe it is the YLOD. I do not care to try to fix it. I am going to give it to goodwill or something. I obviously want my personal info to be secure. Is taking the harddrive out enough to ensure no one is able to access my PSN info, credit card, etc?

Yeah, it should be completely safe. I imagine it would be impossible for your account info to be stored anywhere else other than the hard drive.

I concur, removing the HDD should make it user-information free.
There is a PS3 model that has internal storage, though. The Super Slim 12GB model. Though I doubt that's what you have if it's suffering YLOD.
Just curious, how much would you let the unit go for if you weren't donating it?
