Any impressions on the Dreamcast game E.G.G.?

Post by Scooter »

I picked up a nice copy of this game complete for a few bucks at a local store. Mostly I grabbed it because I'd never heard of it before and it looked like an isometric shooter. Turns out it is a Zelda-like RPG. I haven't logged any playing time but I watched the incredibly long intro. This game must be fairly obscure as I can't find much in the way of reviews on the game.

Does anyone have any experience with the game? Is it a pretty good one or should I unload it now while I can still get my money back at the store I got it from?

TIA.

I've heard some good things about it. There's a favorable review or two somewhere in the forums if you feel like digging through old threads.

Yeah, I've heard quite a few good things about the game. However, there isn't much in the way of video to show you how the game is. Last time I checked all Youtube had was the opening FMV, no gameplay footage.

Hmm.. perhaps someone here with the game should think about recording some video of the game for the 'tube?
I wanted to be a Teminator but they require you have an armored hyperalloy skeleton and mine's mostly recycled truck tires.

I agree with moz's review for the most part. Good game overall. I find the 3d battles to be kind of annoying at times. Sometimes it's hard to position yourself so that you can see properly and the attacks don't seem really effective at first. Over all pretty cool game, and the plot is pretty good. I need to play through it more, I got stuck at some point and put it down.

Not sure why I couldn't find Moz's review when I did a search. But, given his review, I think it's a keeper. Besides, it's been a while since I found a DC game worth adding to my collection and it was cheap.

There's a review category here. There's not many you have to sort through to find it.

As for the request for video, the intro uploaded was most likely mine, but unfortunately youtube updated their video architecture at some point which broke the aspect ratio of the MP4 version, and some other SFD dreamcast video rips I uploaded. For gameplay video, I'd have to really remember how to play the game thing, and it would have to be of either the end areas or the very start. Neither of which I really want to share.
