The skips weren't that annoying to me, but were noticeable. Eventually I grabbed a copy on the N64 for 10 bucks and sort of restarted from there. However I haven't put much time into it so....yeah.

Never played the GCN version so I can't really compare, but I didn't notice any problems playing it on VC.

For me, I usually make it a point to play at least one Castlevania game. That also includes playing through Super Castlevania IV at least once. Love that game. Last year I also went through the original Castlevania on the NES as well. This year....well, I was kinda hoping to finally get myself one of those new-fangled Metroidvania entries that everybody raves about like they're the greatest things since Eggo Waffles, sliced bread, and Barack Obama's Presidency.

Well they just put Circle of the Moon up on VC, and Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow will be joining them later this month if you are interested. CotM is pretty good and AoS is top-notch as well. Never played HoD but I heard it was all right. For other systems, Symphony of the Night is as always a solid choice to start with and I also recommend Portrait of Ruin for DS.

Of course, SCIV will always be king.

Original Silent Hill.

For 8 bit, it's got to be Uninvited.
They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.

I'd say the Lovecraft video games on VC and XBOX, and Sonic Adventure 2. it has a few halloween/ pumpkin stages.

I take it you're referring to Call of Cthulhu? Definitely a favorite Halloween game of mine.

Is anyone else here a fan of the Costume Quest games? I've yet to play the second one that just came out, but found the first to be very casually enjoyable. I also have a raging hard on for double fine, since Psychonauts is one of my all time favorite adventure platformers.

ALSO: Not necessarily a game, but that classic Windows 98 Mystery Screensaver:

The 2nd half of Resident Evil 3 takes place on October 1st. In the graveyard area, you can check some stuff in the corner, and Jill tells you it's dried up pumpkins

Epic. "Halloween specials" are the best, whether it be TV shows or video games. Same can be said for special christmas (*cough* Christmas Nights *cough*) or snow levels. Speaking of which, I just recently saw the Halloween episode of The Office, which was awesome.

OK, just wondering about that.

I don't have a Wii U so getting anything on their VC is a no-go for me. Not a problem though, because I have a GBA SP and a DSi. I also got a PS1 essentially to play SOTN, except I haven't found a CIB copy online for under 30 bucks yet, so.....I'm kinda waiting on that. This wouldn't be a problem normally, but with a dentist appointment and a loan payment within the next 2 weeks....that's gonna be a few bills out of my pocket.

If I don't get SOTN first, I'll probably spring for Circle of the Moon first and then go in order (GBA ones, then DS ones).

And yes, SCIV will always be king. Good thing I snagged it for fairly cheap back in 2011 on Amazon.

I bought "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" on BR tonight. One of the best parts about Halloween is that stores sell "Halloween" and horror movies at cheap prices. They usually have entire halloween sections. So far I have picked up Pet Sematary on BR, Return of the Living Dead on DVD and a few others.

I'm surprised no one's said Doom yet. Especially Doom 64, which I intend to play some more of this month.
