Yes, I find it utterly hilarious. People pay money for a product, and then somehow become no-fee ambassadors for the companies who make these products. Shallow minds are a marketer's dream come true - free advertising ahoy!

I subscribe to the notion that any company I pay money to works for me, and not the other way around. I will not be some sort of mindless shill for their products.

And for the record, I use Linux and MacOSX (don't use Windows because I don't need to currently, but that may change when SF4 is released for PC), and own Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft consoles. All have their pros and cons, and all have their particular uses in my house.

Apple is alright, if your the right customer. People buy different things for different reasons. I bought the iPhone because its easy to use and makes my day go by faster "I work by myself all day". I found other smart phones to complex and overdone. One thing I don't like about them is the constant revisions of their products. Why not take a extra 4 months to get it right instead of rushing it out the door, iPhone 1 being the example. Then slapping early adoptors in the face by coming out with the 3G and lowering the price. Thank god I waited for the 3G. Also the inserviceable, disposable nature and price of their products bother me. When I spend $250 to $300 on a product I want it to be self serviceable or at least be able to change the battery myself. Other than that I've had minimal problems with Apple products.

It's probably already been said, but once those PC vs Mac ads started hitting the airwaves, I lost all interest in their products as a whole. I can't in good conscience support a company that savors it's own bullshit like that. Hopefully those ads converted no one, but I have a feeling that's not so true.

yet since those ad's started running mac sales went up around 80%... stupid people rule our marketplace... Bleh I like IBM and Apple, never had trouble w/ any of their devices, and as Racket said, nothing beats the Trackpoint, and Dell is trying to rip it off w/ a horrible excuse for a trackpoint like device.
