I can't sing, and I don't have the right type of voice to rap, but I really want to make my own music.

They're called instruments.

Its called not giving a dickish response. I don't have the dexterity to properly play drums, let alone any other instrument.

Listen, if you can't sing/rap/yodle/squeal/moan/or even sound like Tom petty, an instrument is the way to go. That was an obvious response, not a "dickish" one.

If you don't have the passion to learn an instrument or skill to actually make music, do us a favor don't whine about it.

You obviously have the dexterity in your fingers to whine on and on, on the internet, so why not put that to better use?

And if you don't like it, you can always drag it behind you whilst you kick rocks and it might make a melody.

Well now I officially feel like a idiot...apparently whoever owned this tv before me messed with some settings(I could hear my r5 but not ps4). So after some fiddling I can now hear the background music on the ps4...what a wonderous discovery to know I didn't screw up and waste money on a tv for it to not work for me

People often overestimate how hard it is to learn how to play an instrument.

Virtually all of my (former) elementary school students can read music and play recorder or some piano or something else. And some of them can't tie their own shoes.

Yes it will take tons of hours to become proficient in any instrument, but if you practice guitar or bass or keyboards or drums or whatever for an hour a day for 90 days or so you will "know how to plan an instrument". You might not be "good" but you'll be proficient enough to start noodling around with said instrument on your own, maybe writing songs, etc.

Plus, if you really want to be a vocalist knowing how to play something will make you a stronger songwriter.

No, this is dickish, as was the first. In fact, this is flat out insulting.

Well, I'm the only kid who failed the recorder test at my school. I can't read music, never understood it when I was taught. I'm also one of those people who makes up a beat or melody they like, only to realize its just something I've heard and don't remember.

Nobody. Man, people think I have self esteem problems, but its really just keeping myself to myself so I don't have any problems.
