Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I think we've all been there.
Except with me replace "Last couple weeks" with "Last couple months, maybe years". I've definitely had a shift to more collector than player, BUT I've really enjoyed Hyrule Warriors and the Bayonetta 2 demo on my WiiU so maybe that'll turn around.
I've talked about selling large swaths of my collection here too, but while I've allowed a few of the systems that I literally never touch to slip out of my hands, someone here (I forget who, it was a long time ago) put it the best: "The games/system meant something to you at some point. Unless you really need money, don't sell them. You'll regret it when you want them back again."
And since I don't really need money that bad, I haven't.

Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Since getting a full time job and studying for my IT certs my desire to play games is at an all time high and my time available to play them is at an all time low.
But yeah, we've all been there. Once you invest time into some other things then you'll probably want to play more. It's all about variety.
And for the record, even with the limited time, I still watch and read about games nearly as much as I play them. It's all part of the hobby so I don't even worry about it anymore.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I had $14.98 in ebay bucks this time around.
After some thought, I decided to turn that into a copy of Injustice: Gods Among Us for PS3. Asking price was 14.99... only cost me a penny. Yippee! I'm excited to whoop some ass as Green Arrow. I'm so down for a modern take on Justice League Task Force.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I think a lot of us have felt this way at some point or another. As others have mentioned, I too have moved more towards a collector mentality and I have accepted that. However, I still play plenty of games and also see the credits roll on just as many.oxymoron wrote:For the last month or so I haven't really had the urge to play games. I even thought about selling a bunch off but I know I'll regret that later. It's not that I don't have the time either. I read and watch more videos about games than play them. Aside from the occasional urge to buy a copy of Metro Redux I really don't want to pick up a controller.
I definitely spend more time watching videos, reading, and writing about video games than actually playing them.

I really want to pull that one off my shelf and play it, it's kinda nice on the vita I just suck at the combos and end up just hitting random buttonsNintendork666 wrote:I had $14.98 in ebay bucks this time around.

Ordered PlayStation TV, anyone else try this yet?

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I know someone in the vita thread has and said it needs some time before it should be used. Apparently netflix doesn't work out of the box and remote play is worse than on a real vita....wclem wrote:Ordered PlayStation TV, anyone else try this yet?

Yes, SS 3 is crazy fun. I love that it plays just like the FPS's of old, relying on maneuverability to keep you alive, instead of constantly having to hide behind cover. Plus, the usual insane amounts of enemies to fight at once.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Every game that has a PC version could learn from Serious Sam 3's options menu. It's exactly how it should be. It has auto-detect, various presets, then a megaton of options for serious enthusiasts who know how many light sources they want and such. Runs buttery smooth too, even if it's not the prettiest game.
I also thought it was awesome when you beat the warship for the 1st time and Sam says, "All your base are belong to us, motherfucker!"
